Bill is quite the snob when we first meet him, but thanks to Connie he loosens up. Brendan Fraser shows what an actor he really is in this movie, by playing such opposite roles. Brendan Fraser is the perfect actor for the film.

The movie actually starts with Steve Decunzo dead in a fleabag motel with two bullets in his chest. You then see Shirley Maclaine's character Grace confess to the murder of Steven Decunzo. This happens right outside of the Catholic church. The characters involved are Grace Winterbourne, the priest, and the two detectives investigating the murder. I think it really starts the movie off well when it starts and ends with someone's murder.

It gives you something to look forward to at the end.

Interestingly enough, Connie and Patricia are both pregnant at the time. On the train, Patricia takes her ring off, because it is becoming too tight to wear. Connie simply asks if she can try it on. Who knew this would change her life forever? When she wakes, and finds out who they think she is, she tries to tell them the truth. Unfortunately, they just don't have the time to listen.

Answer: On the Sunny Side of the Street

In this scene, Grace Winterbourne is throwing a party - possibly a baby shower - for Connie. All of a sudden, the pianist plays this song. A girl Connie is talking to mentions remembering that this is Hugh's favorite song. Connie really puts her foot in her mouth when she says they sang it all the time! Grace wants to sing the song to the baby, and the girls mention what Connie told them. Grace pulls Connie on-stage to sing with her. Unfortunately Connie doesn't know the song.

She pulls it off, though, by making up some lyrics.

They really end up doing a great job. After they get off the stage Connie and her "mother" tell these girls to buzz off!

Paco is Mrs. Winterbourne's Cuban butler. He is a good friend of the family, and he even gets Connie to come back to the Winterbourne house after she runs away. He tells her that she is just as much a Winterbourne as he is. In this scene, he is quite drunk when he wants them to tango. Thank goodness he did, or they might never have kissed!

The last scene in the movie shows William and Connie being pronounced man and wife. Grace Winterbourne then proclaims, "Oh, they're married!" It's definitely a great ending to a great movie.

At the end the minister asks her - as Patricia Winterbourne - to take Bill as her husband. She says, "No, I Constance Helen Doyle, do all that." She takes a definite pause after she says "no". It's good moment of suspense! She even has Bill looking really confused.

When she first sees her baby, she says he is so cute and looks just like a cookie. Isn't that silly?! Mrs. Winterbourne gets her to change her mind, and she names him Hugh, supposedly after his father. Thank goodness! Can you imagine going through life with the name Cookie Winterbourne?!
