During the concert, Joe sees Diane dancing with a student. He gets extremely jealous and gets off stage and grabs Diane; he orders her back to their room. Diane angrily says that he doesn't have to push her around when he's got the band for that. Joe realizes what he did, and immediately apologises to Diane.

Back in their room, Diane asks Joe to sing the "NYC Song." Joe begins singing, and as he's singing, the scenes change to a snow covered mountain.

When the band is playing in the snow, we see Diane and Joe talking.

Diane: "You really enjoy this life, don't you? Always traveling."

Joe: "I still miss Jersey."

Diane: "Oh, and what's so special about Jersey?"

Joe: "Baby! There's no where else in the world like the Garden State. You got miles of swamps and mountains of dumps. Different colored rivers, automobile graveyards, breweries, factories, ballparks, all mixed up together. It's the best place to live."

Joe: "Oooh. That was cruel."

Joe then tells Diane to listen, and then he points to the mountain when they see Hilton playing the saxophone.

Rick tells Joe that the band is ready for the Montreal Spring Music Festival, but Joe disagrees. They have a little dispute, with Hilton being the peacemaker once again. Joe says that they need to practice so he can decide if they're ready for the festival.

The band goes out in the country to a secluded cabin to practice for the festival. They're rehearsing and rehearsing, but Joe is not satisfied.

Martha Quinn tells her viewers that she has the Rock-n-Roll musicologist, Merrill Schindler, as her guest. Schindler tells Martha that he analyzed the guitar solos, and his computer gave him one name.

When Schindler analyzed the guitar solos, his computer gave him the name of the legendary guitarist, Bo Diddley. Schindler then begins talking to Diddley via satellite.

Schindler: "Where were the mystery sessions held at?"

Diddley: "Oh, in Jersey. A little place outside of, um, Newark...ah, called Lakehurst."

Schindler: "Now, for the important question: When were those sessions held?"

Diddley: "I wish I knew. The years kind of, you know, blend together."

Schindler: "Who else was there?"

Diddley: "Eddie was kind of running things along with his sax player, Wendell Newton."

Schindler: "I guess that clears up the mystery for me, Martha. The presence of Wendell Newton obviously dates these sessions as happening before Eddie Wilson's death."

Martha: "Which means that..."

Schindler: "Which means that we have no proof that Eddie Wilson lives, and in my opinion, we can put to rest those grisley rumors that Eddie Wilson is still alive somewhere."

Rick writes a letter, and inserts a demo for Eisen to listen to. Rick writes that the band's lead singer sounds a lot like Eddie Wilson and that he hopes Eisen will listen to the demo.

After Joe destroys his guitar and storms out, Diane starts to go after him, but Hilton holds her back saying he'll go after Joe. Hilton finds Joe near a campfire, burning songs.

Hilton: "First you destroy your guitar, now your music. You gonna be next?"

Joe: "They're lousy songs. They don't even burn good."

Hilton: "Good thing you know'em by heart. It'd be a shame to lose that many songs by Eddie Wilson. I knew the minute I heard you play. The way a man plays...he's born with it, like fingerprints. He can hide under another name, be he can't disguise the way he plays."

Joe: "Then it's a good thing I'm quitting."

Hilton: "You're not quitting now, Eddie. You owe it to this band. You brought them this far. They deserve another chance, just like you had a chance. They ain't gonna get it without you. You owe it them, Eddie and you owe it to me."

The band then auditions for the festival, and Lyndsay tells them they're too good to be just an opening act, and that she's hiring them.

We see Joe driving and thinking bout the argument he and Sal had when Sal told him that The Cruisers weren't great. Then we see Sal walking along the beach with his son, but his son wants to play with his friend Richie. Sal gives his son a hug and tells him to go play, then Sal turns around and, much to his amazement, he sees Eddie walking toward him through a fog. Eddie is again clean shaven. Sal is shocked, hurt, and angry and swings at Eddie, who then ducks and grabs Sal by the arms. Sal begins cursing Eddie, and Eddie asks Sal for his forgiveness.
