Played by Marlene Lawston, Julia is Kyle's only child and the movie is based around her disappearance on the plane. Julia is 6 years old in the movie. She is innocent and doesn't understand much of what is going on around her.

Kyle, who is a recently widowed woman, sees her husband's coffin outside being brought to the plane. Kyle is flying back with the coffin to bury him, whose name was David, at Long Island, where Kyle is originally from.

Fiona comforts Kyle at her seat after her daughter goes missing. Kyle asks Fiona if she has any kids but Fiona instead asks if nieces count. Kyle says almost and then Fiona states that her nieces hate playing hide and seek with her because she always finds them.

Played by Peter Sarsgaard, Gene Carson is the air marshal on board the flight. He gets involved after the situation of the young girl's disappearance escalates.

Kyle begs the captain to help her find her daughter so he tells the rest of the crew to turn all the lights on, make sure all passengers are seated, and to look through every closet and every bin for Julia's boarding pass and Kyle's missing bag.

After seeing David's coffin being loaded onto the plane, Kyle's daughter drew a heart on the window with her breath to moisturise the window. After being told she is dead, Kyle seems convinced it was all in her head that her daughter was on board with her.

But while talking to a therapist on board, Kyle looks out the window and moistens the window with her own breath and spots the heart that her daughter drew. This is how Kyle knew that she was on the plane all along.

After the on board blackout which Kyle deliberately caused to sneak into the cargo hold, the plane begins to descend and Carson tells Kyle that the plane is going to land in Goose Bay where Kyle will be taken off the plane and arrested.

After it's revealed that Carson stashed Kyle's daughter into avionics along with all proof of her existence on board, Flight Attendant Stephanie is revealed to be his partner in crime who helped him take Kyle's daughter and put her into the avionics compartment.

She tells Carson that she feels that Kyle knows that she and Carson are behind it all but Carson laughs saying that it's priceless that all of the passengers are convinced her daughter was never on board and that Kyle is crazy.

Answer: It blows up

Kyle discovers the detonator on Gene's person and when she gets her daughter out of avionics to safety, Kyle blows up the avionics compartment of the plane which killed Carson after he tried to shoot at her repeatedly.

Answer: Are we there yet?

After she wakes up, Kyle puts her daughter down in the car and she asks if they are there yet which Kyle laughs at and then kisses her saying no but they are almost there. Her daughter is unaware of all that has happened overnight on the plane as she is a young girl, only six years old and would not understand the seriousness of what's happened.
