Answer: "Are you trying to be funny?"

This scene highlights a number of recurring themes throughout the film. Towns is an aged, weary pilot who is rather resistant to change. On the one hand he holds out hopes of being rescued, but on the other knows that the chances are slim. Further to that, Dorfmann is German and this is set not long after the end of World War II, suspicions and tensions still ran high. On yet another hand, Dorfmann prides himself on his practicality and self-belief and does not suffer fools gladly. Whilst the others have been doing nothing much over the 5 days since the crash, Dorfmann has been examining the plane and making detailed notes. Dorfmann's response to the "funny" comment is "That is precisely the reaction I would have expected from a man of your obvious limitations." Uh oh! Trouble in paradise, the children aren't playing well together! Author's note: The alternative answer: "I don't know, this whole idea sounds pretty half-baked to me." is taken directly from "The Graduate", in the scene where Ben (Dustin Hoffman) tells his father that he is going to marry Elaine. After pressing Ben for further information, it transpires that Elaine is unaware of Ben's plans. The "half-baked" observation follows from the father. So - if you got this question wrong using the "half-baked" alternative, congratulations, you may well be the first person in history to have mixed up "The Graduate" with "Flight of the Phoenix"!

From Quiz Flight of the Phoenix (1965) - Part 1

Answer: Sandstorm

To say that the plane in which the cast were originally flying was a bucket of bolts would be an understatement. Less than 2 minutes into the movie we see Captain Towns making notes in his log: "Radio out of service - Voltage regulators inoperative". Co-pilot Moran is heard saying to the passengers: "I've never yet taken off in one of the company's tubs without something being wrong". A huge sandstorm appears when co-pilot Moran is flying the plane. The crew attempts to climb out of it, but the right engine ingests too much sand and conks out, quickly followed by the left engine. They have no choice but to ditch in the desert. Of the other three optional answers, a rainstorm would be unlikely in that part of the world, but not impossible. Bird strikes or locusts are also possible. I included these because on the IMDB reviews of the movie, two people had erroneously stated this was why the plane went down! Don't know which movie they were watching...

Anthony denies Angela's account and accuses her of stealing his watch, but Anne doesn't believe it. "Isn't it more likely you just lost it?" she asks. "No. I already had my suspicions, so I set a trap for her. I left my watch somewhere in the open, to see if she'd pinch it," Anthony says. When Anne asks where he left the watch, Anthony can't remember. Anne sits down with a sigh and says that she doesn't know what to do. "I'm telling you I don't need her or anyone else. I can manage very well on my own," he says. "That girl stole my watch. I'm not going to live with a thief. Do you understand?" Anne looks up at her father. "Have you looked under the bath?" she asks. "By the pipes where you hide your valuables?" Anthony is taken aback. "How do you know that?" he asks. "Have you been looking in my hiding place?" Anne says that she found it by accident, but Anthony is already hurrying off to his bathroom to check, re-appearing a minute later with his watch. He puts it on and goes into his office to watch TV. "You found it, then?" Anne asks, standing in the doorway. Anthony looks down at the watch on his wrist. "Oh, yes." he says, pleased with himself. "So you realize Angela had nothing to do with it," Anne points out. Anthony is confused for a moment, but quickly recovers. "Only because I hid it, luckily, just in time. Otherwise, I'd be sitting here talking to you with no means of knowing what time it was," he declares.

"It should not," Anne observes. Anne blindfolds Sarah and takes her to her rooms, where she unveils a model of Blenheim Palace. "You do not lisp but you are mad. Giving me a palace?" Sarah enquires. "Well, I've been wanting to get you something for quite some time now. Seemed like the perfect opportunity with Marlborough winning," Anne explains. "It is a monstrous extravagance Mrs Morley," Sarah says, invoking her pet name for Anne. "We are at war." Anne points out that they have won. "Oh, it is not over. We must continue," Sarah responds. "Oh," Anne says, clearly oblivious to the situation. "Oh, I did not know that."

Moore contrasts the hope of Election Day 2016 with the despair of Election Night 2016, as results grew worse and worse for Clinton supporters until Trump won at 2:17 the morning of November 9. There are scenes of Clinton's party in New York City on election night. Moore notes that crucial victories by Trump in Ohio, Florida and North Carolina, but especially Wisconsin and Michigan, were critical to Trump's electoral college victory.

In the movie it is the Crawford Court named after Chief Justice James Jefferson Crawford played by Barnard Hughes.

Camp Blue Finch was in an isolated campground in the woods. It was centered around a lake. The staff of the camp all arrived early to help get the camp ready for the incoming children. The promo for the film also introduced us to the cast of the 1986 film. There are several clichéd characters, for example the over sexed jock, the quiet shy girl, and the survivor or in this case the final girl. The film within the film "Camp Bloodbath" had so many similarities to the original "Friday the 13th" film from 1980. It too was set in an isolated camp in the woods. The film even used the same eerie sound from the "Friday the 13th" film series. The killer in "Camp Bloodbath" however was not a woman, but he was a man bent on getting revenge.
