Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. An American journalist in Prague is found dead and taken to the morgue, but he is actually alive and trapped inside his body. He tries to figure out what happened to his girlfriend, who has gone missing. Which 1971 film am I describing?

Answer: Short Night of Glass Dolls

Directed by Aldo Lado, "Short Night of Glass Dolls" stars Jean Sorel, Ingrid Thulin and future Bond-girl Barbara Bach. The score was composed by Ennio Morricone.

The role of Gregory Moore, played by Jean Sorel, was originally wanted by Aldo Lado to be played by Spaghetti Western star Terence Hill.
2. A masked killer murders students in a village nearby Perugia with a saw. A girl runs with her friends, but the killer goes after them. Which 1973 giallo does this description fit?

Answer: Torso

"Torso" was an early slasher film directed by Sergio Martino. It stars Suzy Kendall, John Richardson, Luc Merenda and Tina Aumont. Filmmaker Eli Roth considers this film his favorite giallo; he also cast Luc Merenda in his "Hostel: Part II" (2007), in which Italian sex symbol Edwige Fenech also had a part.

The Italian title of this film is "I Corpi Presentano Tracce di Violenza Carnale", literally translated as "The Bodies Bear Traces of Carnal Violence", as the word "torso" doesn't exist in Italian language.
3. In Rome, a woman witnesses a murder taking place in the steps of a square. As she was knocked out at the time, the police officers don't believe her. Did she hallucinate or was it real? Which 1963 classic giallo am I describing?

Answer: The Girl Who Knew Too Much

Directed by Mario Bava, this film stars Leticia Roman, John Saxon and Valentina Cortese. It is also considered to be the first giallo film.
