Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Out of the four choices, which program does NOT feature Roy and Helen?

Answer: A hockey game

There are more programs that feature only Roy, or some that don't feature either one; however, out of the choices that I gave you, the hockey game was the correct one because Roy was in the hockey game, but not with Helen. If you looked at the question carefully, it asked about which program did not have them both. That was when Roy and Spike were fighting over the remote control.
2. How long (in hours) does each contestant have to stay alive in the TV world before they can return home, according to the contract that they all sign with Spike?

Answer: 24

Yes, they had to spend one entire day in TV Land. Of course, Spike tries to finish them off before then. He succeeds with everyone except for the Knables.
3. In what program do Roy & Helen find themselves when their son, Darryl, realizes that they are his parents, and that his parents are obviously stuck in TV Land?

Answer: the cartoon

Yep, Darryl realizes it when his parents are cartoon mice, trying to get away from the robot cat. This was my favorite TV program that Roy and Helen got stuck in, especially when the robot dog that Roy ordered shows up at the door. Darryl's sister, Diane only realizes it after she sees her mom in the next program, where she is kidnapped, and Roy pops in as the detective.
4. When Roy and Helen were cartoon mice, how did Roy finally defeat the robot cat?

Answer: He writes to Acme and requests a robot dog.

Again, my favorite TV program in the movie is the cartoon. Roy employs a very old tactic of writing to the Acme Co., which always delivers in about 5 seconds. No more cat, but no more house either. Who knows--did the cat just activate life #3 and wait until the masters got home?
5. Does Crowley ever get revenge on Spike?

Answer: Yes

I loved that last scene. Crowley got some well-deserved revenge on Spike, although Crowley probably isn't all that innocent either. Oh, well. The Rottweiler had plenty to "play" with, at any rate.
6. What was the last TV program we saw any of the main characters in?

Answer: the medieval program

Hopefully, you didn't forget about Spike hanging up on that chandelier in the program where he and Roy were fencing. That was the last program that we saw in the movie (besides the ones from the credits).
7. How does Mrs. Seidenbaum end her TV adventure?

Answer: getting squished by Godzilla

Yep, she met the wrong end of a 50-foot lizard (paraphrased from Mr. Seidenbaum). Remember, she was taking a picture of him in Japan when she turned around and saw the lizard's giant foot coming down on top of her.
8. After meeting up with Mr. Seidenbaum, how do Roy and Helen jump around to the different channels?

Answer: by pushing different channel numbers on the remote

I hope you remembered that Mr. Seidenbaum brought in his TV remote, so all he has to do in change the channel, and poof, he's in a different world...uh, channel. After he dies, Roy is able to take the remote and switch channels himself.
9. According to Spike, how many channels come with the new dish system?

Answer: 666

Yep, and a way to remember this is to think of the Devil's number. Remember where this TV land is supposed to be, and who it is supposed to be entertaining.
10. Just a quick little question to end the quiz. Is Spike the Devil?

Answer: No

Nope, but I have a hard time remembering that he is not. When the new intern comes in, Spike tells him the sole purpose of the TV programming is to amuse the guy downstairs, not to have subtext, as the intern tries to point out that the shows are lacking the subtext inherent in all "normal" TV programs.
