The film focuses on the US Navy in the near future. In particular, the Naval Air Force division of the United States Navy. For this latest project, the Talon program, over 300 pilots tested for a position. Only three were chosen: Lieutenants Gannon, Wade, and Purcell. Those three fly the three Talon planes.

Talon 1 is flown by Ben "BIG" Gannon. He is the leader of the three Talons. Talon 2 is flown by Kara "Guns" Wade, and Talon 3 is piloted by Henry "E-Z" Purcell. After being introduced to EDI, the UCAV, Ben notes that it's "not bad for a tin man." It is at that moment that Henry gives EDI his call sign.

Answer: USS 'Abraham Lincoln'

After all of their testing in Fallon, Nevada, the Talon pilots, Commanding Officer Cummings, and crew are confirmed to have a place aboard the USS 'Abraham Lincoln' in the Philippine Sea. The captain of the carrier is a former classmate of Cummings, Dick Marshfield.

Answer: Myanmar

The first mission for the Talons is in Rangoon, a city in Myanmar. The heads of three terrorist cells are planned to meet, and the mission is to blow up the building they are meeting in. In order to complete the mission without collateral damage, a plane must fly vertical 2070 and launch the missile through the roof.

The blackout risk is high, but Talon leader Ben Gannon does it himself, shortly blacking out but pulling up enough without damage.

Answer: Thailand

After returning to base after the mission, Captain Cummings gives the crew a rest and relaxation period in Thailand. Henry is seen looking inside a Buddhist temple and then shortly meeting a local woman. Ben and Kara go to a waterfall together, and then meet up with Henry and the new lady he just met.

Answer: He loves Kara Wade

Ben, Kara, Henry, and Henry's new lady friend all sit down for lunch together. The girls get up to go to the restroom, and Henry stares down Ben. Ben tells Henry that everything is fine and that nothing is going on, but tells him that he loves Kara and there's nothing he can do to prevent that. Later that evening, Ben and Kara sit down alone by the fire, and she briefly notes that she "has found the right person now".

After a moment of silence between the two, Ben leaves, trying to push off the forbidden romance.

Answer: Tajikistan

A warlord in Uzbekistan with SKUD launchers has stolen a few nuclear warheads. The Talons look at the surrounding area, and Kara thinks it is too risky to blow up the site, as there would be nuclear debris everywhere, and there are locals nearby that would be hit by the debris. Ben (Talon 1) calls off the mission, seeing as the collateral damage would be too high a risk. EDI does not listen and carries out the mission, disobeying his orders.

Answer: Deprive it of gasoline

After the UCAV has selected other targets, it must refill on gasoline. It makes it to a high altitude refueling station ("Camelhump"), but its gas tank has been rejected. EDI then shoots the hose the gas comes out of, and starts refueling after the gas lock has been destroyed. After trying to starve him fails, the Talons are sent to bring EDI back to base...

Answer: Talon 3 (Henry)

EDI refuses to listen to the Talons, and he evades all three of them. Henry is the first to get to EDI, and tells him he needs to take orders just like everyone else. They fly very low between the mountains, and EDI pulls up and Henry crashes into the mountainside.

Answer: North Korea

Kara Wade's wing becomes inoperable after Henry's crash, and the Talon begins destruction protocol, causing her to eject. She sends her coordinates to base, and they locate her to punch out over North Korea. She then heads south to the demilitarized zone, trying to get to South Korea, as they are an ally. Ben locates her near the boarder and they fly back to base.
