Have you watched "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe"? I think it's one of the best movies there is - it's the kind of movie you can watch again and again and again. Here are a few questions about the movie.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was this movie based on?

Answer: A book

C.S. Lewis wrote the "Narnia" books, seven in all, and of them, "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" is the most popular and well-known.
2. Where did the Pevensie kids get off the train?

Answer: Coombe Halt

The story was set during World War II, when the Germans were bombing London. It was during this time that they allowed children refugees to travel to the countryside to escape war-ravaged London. The Pevensie kids took the train and, seemingly, were the last to get off, which indicated that they traveled the farthest. They were sent to live with Professor Kirke and Mrs. Macready.
3. What was the name of the Pevensie kids' mother?

Answer: Helen

Lucy mentioned her mother's name when Mr. Tumnus asked her, "Are you a Daughter of Eve?" and she replied, "Well, my mother's name is Helen." Mrs. Pevensie was played by Judy McIntosh. Jadis was the White Witch's real name and it was mentioned only once in the movie, when Peter read Mr. Tumnus' warrant of arrest.

In Narnia, female humans were called Daughters of Eve while male humans were called Sons of Adam, so I hope you didn't get confused there.
4. What was the last thing that Lucy said that convinced Mr. Tumnus to return her back to the lamppost?

Answer: "I thought you were my friend."

When Mr. Tumnus was apologizing for kidnapping her, Lucy said in disbelief, "I thought you were my friend." In the next scene, Mr. Tumnus was accompanying Lucy back to the lamppost where he first met her. Although she did say, "You're the nicest Faun I've ever met," it wasn't that which prodded Mr. Tumnus into returning her.
5. In the war with the White Witch, what was Peter's first line of attack?

Answer: Gryphons dropping stones

I loved that shot, when the camera showed the Gryphons from the air dropping heavy stones to the enemy. It closely resembled the opening shot of the German planes bombing London. I think it was a great move on Peter's part, although I do wonder what happened to the Gryphons afterwards. We don't really see them in the thick of the battle.

In fact, we only see a few of them (2, actually) when the battle has relocated to the rocky area at the side of the open field.
6. In order, list the names of the Pevensie children as they entered the wardrobe when they all went in together.

Answer: Edmund then Lucy then Susan then Peter

The one time when all of them entered the wardrobe, it was Edmund first (Edmund: "Come on!" Susan: "You've got to be joking."), then Lucy, then Susan (you saw her dark green cardigan just before Peter entered), and finally Peter. I thought it was a bit weird, though, when the four of them were inside the wardrobe and they shuffled and shoved at each other and suddenly, Peter and Susan were the ones in the back, the ones who first stepped into Narnia.
7. Except for Lucy, this was how the rest of the Pevensie children made their entrance into Narnia.

Answer: Falling

Lucy hit her hand on a pine tree needle when she first entered. This caused her to stop, then slowly turn around to face Narnia for the first time. When Edmund entered, he was calling out for Lucy and trying to make his way through the wardrobe, turning around and around such that he tripped and entered Narnia by falling flat on his back. Susan and Peter, on the other hand, entered the wardrobe with their younger siblings and, while being pushed and shoved inside the wardrobe, they both first entered Narnia by falling on their butts.
8. Edmund was saved from the White Witch and had a private conversation with Aslan. What were the first words Peter said to Edmund, when they were all finally reunited?

Answer: "Get some sleep."

The scene:
Edmund: "Hello."
(Lucy and Susan hugged him.)
Susan: "Are you all right?"
Edmund: "I'm a little tired."
Peter: "Get some sleep."
(Edmund had a slightly disappointed and hurt look on his face but walked toward the tent. When he was a few steps past Peter, Peter turned to him.)
Peter: "And Edmund? (they looked at each other; Peter smiled) Try not to wander off."
Edmund smiled back, signifying, without words, that everything was all right with them again.
Lucy's the one who said, "Narnia's not going to run out of toast, Ed" when the four were eating and Edmund was wolfing down toast.
"Why can't you ever just do as you're told" or its variation, is a line that was said twice by Peter to Edmund. The first time was in the beginning after Edmund defied his mother's orders and ran back to the house to get the picture of their father. Peter yelled at him because Edmund almost got them both killed. The second was after Edmund was revived by Lucy's potion, after being stabbed by the Witch because he disobeyed Peter's orders to leave. Peter said it in a sort of tearful manner because Edmund had almost died trying to save his life, even though Peter had asked him to leave so that Edmund would not be harmed.
9. All the Pevensie kids looked alike, but one of them had an obviously different feature from the others. What was different with him/her?

Answer: Edmund has brown eyes.

They all have dark blue or blue eyes, except for Edmund who has brown eyes. All of them have fair skin color.
I liked Peter's character, he was such a nice older brother, he always protected his siblings and placed their safety and well-being first, before anything else.
10. What animal did Edmund ride?

Answer: A horse named Philip

Edmund rode a horse named Philip before and after the war; they basically ended up growing together. Peter was the one who rode a white unicorn who, unfortunately, died in the battle with the White Witch and when they were older, he rode a black horse (whose name was never mentioned). No one rode a centaur.
In the Narnia books, there were two types of horses in Narnia - those that could speak and those that could not. Those that could speak had the freedom of choice to be ridden or not (usually ridden during wars, otherwise hardly anyone rode them) and it was considered a great honor to be allowed to ride a horse that could speak since they were considered more intelligent than their silent counterparts.
Just an interesting aside, the girl who played the older Lucy was actually Georgie Henley's older sister, Rachel Henley. (Info from imdb.com)
