Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What do we find Edmund doing at the beginning of the movie?

Answer: trying to enlist in the army

We see Edmund standing in line at a recruitment office. When he reaches the front of the line he presents papers with a false name to an officer who openly questions his age. As Edmund insists that he is old enough, Lucy sticks her head through the door and calls to him, by his right name, to come help with the groceries. Needless to say he doesn't get accepted in the army!
2. Who enters Narnia, when the unusual summons arrives?

Answer: Edmund, Lucy and Eustace

Lucy and Edmund are staying with relatives. Unfortunately this involves living with their very obnoxious cousin, Eustace. Eustace resents them being there, and doesn't let them forget that they are merely guests in his home, in which he can do as he pleases. He and Edmund are particularly antagonistic. which is difficult since they must share a room.
3. How do they get into Narnia?

Answer: through the picture on the wall

A picture on the wall is mostly of the sea, with a sailing ship off on the horizon. As Edmund and Eustace fight, Lucy calls their attention to the fact that the waves in the picture are moving and the ship is getting closer. Eustace, who has been mocking them about their belief in Narnia, pulls the picture off the wall and the water tips out into the room, until the room is filled, and they end up in the water beside the ship. Men dive off of the ship to rescue them.
4. Who do they find is one of their rescuers?

Answer: Prince Caspian

Caspian is the King of Narnia, having become king with the assistance of the Pevensie children in the second movie, when they helped him defeat his murderous uncle. Aslan acknowledged Caspian as a King of Narnia, along with Lucy, Edmund, Peter and Susan, leaving Caspian in charge when the Pevensies returned to England at the end of "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian".
5. No one understands why Lucy and Edmund have been summoned, since there is no war in Narnia and they are only supposed to be summoned in times of need. Caspian is, however on a quest. What is he looking for?

Answer: the seven lost Lords of Narnia

Caspian explains how sensing danger, his father had sent his seven closest friends away across the sea. Shortly after that Caspian's uncle made his play for power. The seven Lords had never been seen or heard from since. Taking advantage of the time of peace, Caspian has set out on a voyage to find out what happened to them.
6. Although the first island they reach, part of the Lone Islands, is technically part of Narnia, the people have fallen into practices that are expressly forbidden by Narnian law. What happens to Lucy here?

Answer: She is sold into slavery.

When they first arrive on the island it seems deserted, although Eustace does see people hiding in obvious fear. But the trap is sprung and the companions are split up, some to the dungeons and some to the slave market. Lucy has a sold sign hung around her neck while Eustace is put up for auction. No one bids on him though.
7. On another island, Lucy is stolen in the night by invisible people, because she can read. What do they want her to do for them?

Answer: read the spell to turn them visible again

Leaving enormous footprints in the sand, the invisible people take Lucy because she is female, and the book by her side proves that she can read. They want her to go into the invisible mansion and read the spell from the spell book therein.
Once they become visible, we see that although their feet are enormous, they aren't nearly as big as they pretend to be, and pile on tip of each other to give the illusion of size. They do, however, only have one leg and one foot each, and get around by hopping.
The wizard tells them that they need to place the seven swords (belonging to the seven lost lords) on Aslan's table to stop the green mist and break the enchantment of the islands.
8. Who does Lucy want to look like?

Answer: Susan

While flipping through the spell book, Lucy finds one about looking beautiful. When she reads the spell the person in the picture becomes Susan. Lucy is quite excited, but when she looks in the mirror she still looks like herself. She rips the page out of the book and takes it with her. Later, after reflecting on the spell again (pun intended) she has a dream in which she is Susan, with Edmund and Peter on each arm. Only she is horrified to realize that she has wished herself out of existence. She wakes, wads up the page from the book and throws it into the fire.
9. What happens to Eustace?

Answer: He becomes a dragon.

On one of the islands, Edmund and Caspian find one of the Lost Lords, having been turned to gold by falling in a mysterious pool of water. His sword, however, did not turn to gold and Edmund is able to retrieve it using one of the other swords.
Eustace wanders off on his own and finds a great treasure of gold. Overcome by greed, he knocks over the skeleton there (also one of the Lost Lords as it turns out), places a bracelet on his arm and loads his pockets with treasure. However the treasure is dragon's treasure, and Eustace becomes a dragon.
The men on the ship try to kill Eustace, until he grabs Edmund and flies him over a place where he has identified himself, in words written in fire.
10. Which unlikely pair surprisingly become good friends?

Answer: Eustace and Reepicheep

Initially Eustace is absolutely disgusted by Reepicheep, calling him a rat and writing in his diary about how disgusted he is to share quarters with him. Reepicheep tries to make a man out of him, by teaching him swordplay, and although Eustace originally resists, he does get better.

When he becomes a dragon, Reepicheep attaches himself to him, and rides on him when Eustace is in flight. Together they accomplish a lot, and Eustace becomes more of an asset as a dragon than he was as a human.
11. What kind of being is Lilliandil, who gives them advice near the end of their quest?

Answer: a star

Hungry from days lost at sea, waiting for the blue light to follow, they finally reach Aslan's table, which is laden with food. However they are suspicious about eating the food, because the three Lords sitting around the table are barely alive and the party speculates that the food may have drugged them.
Lilliandil appears, bathed in light, and assures them that the food is for them and is safe to eat. One of the party identifies her as a star, and she admits that she is, identifying herself as Ramandu's daughter.
12. How is Eustace returned to himself?

Answer: by Aslan's roar

Eustace fights an amazing battle with the sea serpent that is attacking the ship, but is badly injured in the process. He is lying on the beach of an island, winded and wounded when Aslan appears. Aslan tells him that he has learned much by being a dragon, and Eustace agrees. Aslan roars and Eustace finds himself human again.
13. Are any of the Lost Lords found alive?

Answer: Yes

The first, Lord Bern, is found alive on one of the Lone Islands. He recognizes Caspian and offers up his sword.
The second, Lord Restimar, is found dead in the pool of water that turned him into gold. Lord Octesian is found dead on the same island, by the dragon's treasure.
The next three. Lords Revilian, Argos and Mavramorn, are found in an enchanted sleep at Aslan's table.
The last, Lord Rhoop, is found on Dark Island, going crazy from living in a place where your worst dreams come true.
14. Who places the last sword on Aslan's table, breaking the spell?

Answer: Eustace

The sword is thrown at Eustace, by Lord Rhoop, when Eustace is still in dragon form and becomes stuck in his shoulder. When he is returned to human form, he realizes that he must get it to Aslan's table, but has to fight his way through green mist to do so. When the seven swords meet, they glow blue and the spell is broken.
15. Who decides, at the end, that he or she wants to see Aslan's country, even if it means never returning to Narnia?

Answer: Reepicheep

The company stands beside a great wall of water, beyond which lies Aslan's land. Aslan tells them that they are able to go beyond the wall to see his land, but return will not be possible. Caspian is tempted, because he wants to see if his father is there, but decides that his father would not want him to abandon Narnia.
Reepicheep, a mouse of advancing years, steps forwards and says that seeing Aslan's land is his dearest wish, and takes a little boat up and over the wall of water.
