Answer: An anniversary party

Jane and Jake are attending the party separately, having been divorced for 10 years. Their two married friends are celebrating their 30 year anniversary. Jane is faced with seeing Agness, Jake's current and younger wife.

Answer: Caterer

During the time Jane and Jake were married, she was catering on weekends in addition to raising the children. After Jane and Jake's second encounter, Jake references this current time in their lives as being good for them both. Jane isn't tired from the kids and catering. Jake is calmer and less obsessed, having made partner in his law firm.

Answer: A new addition to the house

Jane is especially excited that she will be getting a new kitchen, the kitchen she has always wanted. Adam also has suggestions for the rest of the house, an architectural plan we see marked out in Jane's yard later in the movie. The one thing Jane tells Adam she does not want is two sinks in her bathroom. Sometimes she feels bad now looking at the extra sink. Adam asks her if she doesn't think she might want a second sink in the future.

This dialogue is funny, because it becomes a comment on her relationship status.

Answer: Lavender honey ice cream

Adam tells Jane that the lavender honey ice cream is probably the best dessert he has ever had. She tells him that she makes it when she can't sleep. Later, when Jake appears after Adam leaves and he finds the leftover ice cream, he says, "Not sleeping?" He knows Jane well, but she says "Not at all." She is not going to admit to Jake that she can't sleep.

Answer: The sagging skin above her left eyelid

Jane is shocked when Dr. Moss tells her she needs a brow lift and that she has equal amounts of sagging skin over both eyelids. Information about the recovery process leaves her running out of the office and into the elevator where she sees Jake and Agness.

Answer: Her therapist

Jane sees her therapist for a short, emergency appointment and wants him to tell her what she should do. He tries to stay noncommittal, but Jane presses him for his opinion. He finally shares that it can't do any harm to pursue the affair. Jane is happy with this answer.

Answer: The Park Regent

At the anniversary party in the opening scene, Jane asks Jake and Agness if they are staying at the Four Seasons. Agness confirms that they are staying at The Park Regent, as is Jane. Jane says, "That'll be convenient." You get the sense that she isn't thrilled. Great acting by Meryl Streep.

Answer: "This is the dumbest thing two people have ever done."

This is a funny scene with Jane hugging the toilet and sick from drinking while Jake happily says the encounter was "smokin' hot". Jane, however, is appalled at what they have done. The divorce of 10 years has been rocky for both them and their children.

The children have observed their parents not even being able to be in the same room together at times. Jane and Jake have seemed to work out civility after many years, so going back to trying to be lovers is totally out of Jane's perception of the relationship.

Answer: She had a baby with another man and then reconciled with Jake.

Agness broke up Jake and Jane's marriage, then left Jake for another man with whom she had Pedro. Then she returned to Jake, who took her back and married her.

Answer: "Did you know it's good luck to start building in the rain?"

The final scene is set in Jane's backyard during a pouring rainstorm. Jane does not know Adam is continuing the project, as he was hurt over learning about her involvement with Jake. She is pleased to see him along with his workers, whom she invites to go inside for coffee. When Jane and Adam are alone, it is clear that they are glad to reignite their budding relationship.
