Made in 1939 and set in the southern states a century before, "Gone With The Wind" was nominated for 13 Oscars and won eight. It was the troubled love affair between a spoiled daughter of a plantation owner and a dashing beau. Set during and after the American Civil War, Leigh played Scarlett O'Hara, whose plantation home was overrun by the Union Army.

The focus turned to her struggle to rebuild her home, known as Tara, and keep it out of the hands of creditors. She set her sights of Rhett Butler, played by Clark Gable, as a dashing saviour of her fortunes.

Answer: From Here To Eternity

"From Here To Eternity" won eight of the 13 Oscars for which it was nominated in 1953. Sadly there was no Oscar for Best Kissing Scene for Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr - or any win, even though both were nominated. This was a love triangle story set on the island of Oahu, before Pearl Harbor. Frank Sinatra and Montgomery Clift also starred. Clift played an amateur boxer determined he did not want to fight anymore, only to face pressure from a captain, played by Philip Ober, and other NCOs That pressure led to the death of a friend of the private, who began to seek revenge. Meanwhile the captain's wife, Kerr, began a romance with a sergeant played by Lancaster.

Answer: Some Like It Hot

If you were paying attention you will have noticed that the first three words of the question were the last line of the 1959 comedy. Curtis and Jack Lemon played a couple of musicians who dressed up as women in an all-girl band to flee from The Mob. Monroe was possibly the best known screen ukulele player since George Formby (What? - you want an apology for that well crafted one-liner?)
