Harry recovers from a temporary amnesia to avenge his father, Norman Osborn's death and he still suspects Spider-Man to be the killer of his father. Both of them engage in a fight sequence at Harry's mansion where Harry tries to kill Peter with a pumpkin bomb. Peter manages to escape it due to his reflexes and throws it back to Harry.

Topher Grace is never referred to as "Venom" once in the entire movie. He is known as Eddie Brock Jr. in the movie who wants to work as a photographer for The Daily Bugle and it starts a rivalry between him and Peter Parker. Later on he is infected by the parasite from the outer space which transforms him into Venom, a powerful evil enemy to Spider-Man.
The funny part of his shooting schedule is while being in the Venom costume, Topher Grace preferred not to drink water during his breaks because it would have been impossible for him to use the bathroom with the costume on.

In the movie, Peter initially wants to kill Sandman to avenge the death of Uncle Ben because he thinks that Sandman (earlier Flint Marko) killed his uncle. When, at the climax, it is revealed that Flint did not murder him and everything was an accident, Peter forgives Sandman.
Thomas Haden Church had to go through a 16 months long physical training regime to be in a shape that needed him to play Sandman in the movie. Director Sam Raimi thanked Church by gifting him a copy of "Amazing Spiderman" #4 where Sandman, the character appeared for the first time.
