2. In what country did most of the movie take place?

Answer: Spain

The movie started in Madrid and that was where the most of the movie took place. But parts of the movie also took place in Paris, France, where Dalí went and made the movie "Un chien andalou" with the director, Luis Buñuel. Of course it was obvious that the movie was to take place mostly in Spain, because both Dalí and Garcia were Spanish.
3. What was the name of the girl who tried very hard to get the attention of Garcia?

Answer: Magdalena

Magdalena was also a writer and the friend of Garcia. She tried to persuade him several times, and eventually she succeeded. Even though he was obviously very infatuated with Dalí, which she later realizes.
Magdalena played the important of role of Garcia's friend in need.
4. When did Garcia and Dalí first advance their relationship to more than friendship?

Answer: When they spent the summer at Dalí's home

One night they went out for a swim, and eventually they kissed. After that, Dalí acted quite weird. And throughout the movie it was also quite obvious that Garcia was more dominant and the one to make the moves, while Dalí was a little more reluctant.
5. When Garcia and Dalí spend the summer at Dalí's family's home, Dalí painted a painting that was one of his well known works. In the movie, Garcia named it. What did he name it?

Answer: Little Ashes

"Little Ashes" was the name of the painting by Dalí and also, what the movie was named after. He first called it "The Birth of Venus", then it was changed to "Sterile Efforts", and finally it was called "Cenicitas". "The Persistence of Memory" is also a work of Dalí. It is probably the best known work by him as it is the one with the melting clocks.
In the movie, Garcia explained why he named it that: "Because you can paint us into a hundred pictures. And in eighty years time, we'll still be dust."
6. What was the only thing Dalí cared about, according to Luis?

Answer: Money

Dalí saw himself as a genius. He changed a lot, and became very obsessed with his own wealth and well-being. He was only interested in ways to make more money, which he didn't find a problem at all, since he was obviously a genius. From the way the movie portrayed him, you almost get the idea that he thinks people should be honored to even be in the same room as him.
7. What was the name of the woman Dalí married?

Answer: Gala

Garcia was asked by Dalí to come and meet him, and at the same time he also met Gala. That was the last time in the movie that Garcia and Dalí met.
Gala was a married woman (she was married to French poet, Paul Éluard) who liked celebrities, such as Dalí himself. She was an inspiration to him and other artists as well. She was the model in most of Dalí's works and they were married right until Dalí died in 1989.
8. Why did Dalí move to Paris?

Answer: He couldn't handle Garcia's extreme infatuation with him

Garcia was so in love with Dalí that he became too much for him, and of course, Garcia was quite sad that he moved, without notice.
In real life, Dalí stated for a long time that nothing ever happened between them, even though he knew Garcia was in love with him. He said that he was annoyed of Garcia's constant pursuit of him. From their letters though, it was clear that something was going on between them, something beyond friendship.
9. What happened to Garcia at the end?

Answer: He was executed

Garcia was kidnapped and held hostage, before he and some others were executed by firing squad, because they had supported the "Popular Front" during the Spanish Civil War. In real life, it is also believed by some people that he was killed because of his sexual orientation.
10. What were the final words said by Dalí?

Answer: "J'arrive!"

At the end of the movie, when Dalí heard of the death of Garcia, he freaked out while working on a painting and black paint. He ended up with paint all over himself, and then wrapped a black piece of cloth around him, before continuing to walk downstairs, where Gala has just announced that their guests has arrived.

The scene really showed his grandiose behavior, and revealed that he really cared about Garcia.
