Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In what movie does Russell Crowe ask, "You know I could have killed you just now, but...I like to play"?

Answer: Virtuosity

In 'Virtuosity' Russell Crowe plays the role of SID 6.7, a computer generated serial killer that began his "life" as part of a police training A.I. computer program.

The movie also features Denzel Washington (as Lt. Parker Barnes) and Kelly Lynch (as Madison Carter). Another actress is Kaley Cuoco. For those who don't recognise Kayley's name, she plays the role of the sexy Penny in the TV show 'The Big Bang Theory'.

This quote is said by Russell Crowe when he taunts Denzel Washington during a computer generated training session.
2. When asked "Who are you, really?" This person replies with, "Really? I'm just a figment of your imagination". Who made the reply and what movie did it come from?

Answer: Tommy Lee Jones - 'Men in Black'

In 1997 Tommy Lee Jones teamed up with Will Smith for the science fiction movie, "Men in Black". A sequel was made in 1997, and in 2012 the third part of the series hit the big screen. The third installment includes the usual characters along with appearances from Lady Gaga, Nicole Scherzinger and Emma Thompson.

The quote is said when INS Agent Janus (played by Fredric Lehne) attends a strange 'incident'. He asks Tommy Lee Jones (Agent Kay) who he is (presumably meaning what government department does he work for). Tommy Lee then responds with his reply and a follow up action (You will have to watch the movie to see what happens next).
3. Who is the bad guy who says these words? "Let this be a learning experience, gentleman. If you resist we will kill you and the man next to you. Now move out of here in an orderly fashion!"

Answer: Tommy Lee Jones - 'Under Siege'

Steven Seagal plays the role of Casey Ryback, a cook on-board a U.S Navy ship. Tommy Lee Jones plays the role of the bad guy, William Stranix. Gary Busey also appears along with Erika Eleniak, the hot blonde who jumps out of the cake.

Tommy Lee says the quote while addressing the captured sailors, after seizing control of a navy ship.
4. In the movie, 'Bruce Almighty' Jim Carrey has an on-screen meltdown and says at the end of it, "I'm Bruce Nolan for Eyewitness News. Back to you...". At the time his girlfriend was watching the news broadcast. Who played the role of his girlfriend?

Answer: Jennifer Aniston

In this hilarious scene, Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey) is a reporter sent to cover a story at Niagara Falls and suffers a break down, live on air. Things go from bad to worse as the news broadcast continues. During the breakdown his girlfriend (played by Jennifer Aniston) is watching the events unfold on her TV.

Jennifer Joanna Aniston was born in 1969 and is well known for her role as Rachel Green on the TV show 'Friends'.

All of the listed actresses have appeared in movies with Jim Carrey.

Jennifer Aniston - 'Bruce Almighty'
Téa Leoni - 'Fun with Dick and Jane'
Renée Zellweger - 'Me, Myself & Irene'
Leslie Mann - 'The Cable Guy'
5. What spy movie contains this quote? "Tobin Frost was recruited into the agency in 1984. He tested off the charts in aptitude for psychological field work. His first assignment was in Lebanon in January 1985. Three months later he captured and flipped a high ranking Hezbollah leader."

Answer: Safe House

"Safe House" stars Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington.

Reynolds plays the role of a CIA agent, Matt Weston, entrusted with running a safe house that rogue CIA agent, Tobin Frost (played by Washington) is delivered to. Following an attack on the safe house, Weston and Frost are on the run for their lives. This movie is action packed with lots of car chases and gun fights. Even more surprising for this genre of movie, is that the bad language content is minimal to non-existent.

This quote is said by a CIA analyst when she is asked to give a briefing on Tobin Frost, after Frost hands himself in at the US Embassy in Capetown, South Africa. The remainder of the scene gives further details of Frost and his fall from grace as a CIA agent.

The full quote is: "Tobin Frost was recruited into the agency in 1984. He tested off the charts in aptitude for psychological field work. His first assignment was in Lebanon in January 1985. Three months later he captured and flipped a high ranking Hezbollah leader. Over the next several years, Frost successfully questioned and recruited many high value individuals. He became known as an expert manipulator of human assets and he literally rewrote agency interrogation protocols"
6. In what movie would you find this quote? "Hold it, hold it. What is this? Are you trying to trick me? Where's the sports?...Is this a kissing book?"

Answer: The Princess Bride

'The Princess Bride' was released in 1987. The movie revolves around a fairy tale story that is read to a young boy (played by Fred Savage) by his grandfather (played by Peter Falk).

The movie has the usual suspects...the handsome hero (Cary Elwes), the beautiful love interest/princess (Robin Wright), the evil villains (Christopher Guest and Chris Sarandon) and the faithful heroic sidekicks (Mandy Patinkin and André the Giant).

Keep an eye out in the movie for English comedian Mel Smith (from the comedy duo, "Alas Smith & Jones") and Billy Crystal (almost unrecognisable in his make up!).

The quote is said when the grandson interrupts his grandfather during a kissing scene in the story.
7. Can you identify the war movie that this quote came from? "Admiral Canaris is sending a U-boat to pick you up off the coast of Scotland, but only when you signal it. From six in the evening until six in the morning. You must deliver the photographs personally to the Fuhrer. He says he trusts you".

Answer: Eye of the Needle

'Eye of the Needle' was released in 1981. It features Donald Sutherland as a German spy operating in Britain during WW2.

This quote (or rather variations of this quote) is used twice in the movie.

This version is used as a flashback when Sutherland recalls the instructions given to him by another German spy during a liaison.

The other spy originally says a variation of the quote (including the instructions) at the beginning of the movie. In what could be construed as a blunder by the movie makers, the order of the information varies between the two quotes. For example, during the meeting of the spies, the words, "You must deliver the photographs personally to the Fuhrer" are said first. In the flashback scene, they are said at the end of the quote.
8. In the movie 'Ghostbusters', what actor utters the words, "It's the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man"?

Answer: Dan Aykroyd

The quote is used during the final scenes of the movie. Dan Aykroyd says this quote to the other members of his team when a giant version of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man appears.

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is fictional, but he does resemble the real life mascots of the Michelin Tyre Man, and the Pillsbury Doughboy.
9. Identify the movie that this quote comes from. Main character: "I need a horse". Reply: "We don't have horses, just dogs, cats, birds...". Main character: "Then give me one of those large enough to ride".

Answer: Thor

'Thor' was released in 2011. It stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as his father, Odin, and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster.

When Thor is banished from his home planet he is sent to Earth as punishment. This quote is said when Thor requires transportation and enters a pet shop. As he is not familiar with modern society or technology he ends up requesting a horse to ride from the shop assistant.
10. Can you recall this quote? What movie is it from and who said it? "Can you keep a secret? I'm trying to organize a prison break. I'm looking for, like, an accomplice. We have to first get out of this bar, then the hotel, then the city, and then the country. Are you in or you out?"

Answer: 'Lost in Translation' - Bill Murray

Set in Tokyo, Japan 'Lost in Translation' stars Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson.

This quote is said when Bill Murray is approached by Johansson in a hotel bar and she inquires if he is having a good time. Bill then responds with the quote and a friendship is formed between them.
