Robert DeNiro made his directorial debut in what I consider a classic movie. Also starring in it, DeNiro plays Lorenzo Anello, a man who tries to teach the values of hard work and doing the right thing to his son Calogero. Calogero, on the other hand, wants to live the easy life with easy money and fast cars, like Sonny, a mob boss played by Chazz Palminteri.

Being a soldier just returning from war, I've learned to appreciate this movie more and more. Tom Hanks plays Captain Miller in "Saving Private Ryan". Although his men question the validity of their mission, Cpt. Miller commands his troops and completes their mission, paying the ultimate price, their lives. On a more personal note, many soldiers were killed in combat performing tasks and missions they did not agree with.

However, reguardless of their personnal opinions, they drove on and completed their missions. For this, I'm proud to be a soldier, a part of a brotherhood of men and women who place their lives on the line to fight for our freedoms.

Starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, "Bloodsport" is the story of Frank Dux, an American who stopped at nothing to defend the honor of his Shidoshi, the man who trained him to fight, in a tournament previously fought only by the Chinese.

"The Lost Boys" is my favorite movie of the 80's, Starring Kiefer Sutherland as the coolest vampire ever. Not to mention a great performance by the Coreys, Haim and Feldman. This movie also features an excellent soundtrack. By the way, my wife hates this movie.
