2. (1981) Ned is a small town lawyer who finds himself falling in love with Matty, the wife of a rich, older man. During a summer heat wave they plot the murder of her husband, so they can be together and inherit the money. 4. (1942) Rick Blaine, played by Humphrey Bogart, is a former freedom fighter who now owns a nightclub in North Africa. Victor Lazlo is a resistance leader who is trying to get out of Africa and escape capture by the Gestapo. Lazlo and his wife Ilsa, played by Ingrid Bergman, arrive in Rick's bar, because Rick is one of the few men who can help them get away. Unfortunately Ilsa and Rick are former lovers, who are still very much in love.
5. (1969) It's 1940 and the British Royal Air Force has a real struggle on its hands, fighting to control British air space and prevent a German invasion. The war might have had a very different ending without the tireless efforts of these courageous flyers.
6. (1976) Based on a novel by Jack Higgins, this movie tells the story of 16 German paratroopers who landed in England during WWII, and very nearly succeeded in kidnapping Winston Churchill.
7. (1979) Through the lead character of Joe Gideon, Bob Fosse fictionalizes his own life and experiences from when he was working on the play 'Chicago'. The dancing is nothing short of incredible and his portrayal of himself as a womanizing, drug using dancer is brutal.

(1981) Nobody really believes in werewolves these days, so if you get attacked by one while on holiday in Europe, you'll probably manage to convince yourself that it really wasn't a werewolf that mauled you and killed your friend. Until the next full moon of course, when you begin to realize that those disturbing dreams that you've been having maybe aren't really dreams after all.
9. (1983) The year is 1942 and the setting is a Japanese prison camp run by Captain Yanoi. Yanoi has nothing but disdain for the men in his camp, believing them cowards because they chose surrender over death. He has firmly entrenched beliefs about honour, discipline, and glory, and nobody is going to shake those beliefs. So he's not prepared for the strange battle of wills and attraction that arrives when Major Jack Celliers, played by David Bowie, is transferred into his camp.
10. (1981) Lucy lives with her crippled, embittered husband and their young son on an isolated island off the coast of England. When Faber washes up on their island after a storm, she welcomes the diversion of nursing him back to health, and soon falls in love with him. Unfortunately she finds out that he's a German spy, with information that could alter the course of D-Day. It's a good thing that he's fallen in love with her too, because she's the only thing that's standing between him and a rendezvous with a German submarine that is waiting to pick him up.
11. (1973) There have been many versions and interpretations of this tale, by Dumas, about a young man who seeks honour and glory in the king's musketeers. This version is notable for its remarkable cast and very funny scenes by one of Hollywood's leading (at the time) sex symbols, Raquel Welch.
12. (1995) When he was a young boy he lost both his father and brother in the fight against English oppression, but it wasn't until they killed his wife that he got mad enough to fight back. Once provoked, he became their absolute worst nightmare, in this movie that was loosely based on the life of William Wallace, in 13th century Scotland.
13. (1978) Gloria Mundy, played by Goldie Hawn, is a shy librarian whose friends are encouraging her to be more outgoing. So she picks up a hitch-hiker, and accepts a date from him. The next thing she knows, she's in the middle of a bizarre crime involving dwarves and albinos, and a plot to assassinate the Pope. Tony Carlson, played by Chevy Chase, may not be the best cop in the world, but together they manage to save the day, and fall in love while they're at it.
14. (1979) Sean Connery, Donald Sutherland and Lesley Anne Down band together to steal a shipment of gold from a moving train. Their elaborate plan involves keys that must be copied, a coffin, a dead cat and a brothel.
15. (1972) There is nothing Andrew, played by Laurence Olivier, likes better than a good game, and with his income, he can afford to play for some pretty high stakes. Milo, played by Michael Caine, is a hairdresser who is having an affair with Andrew's wife. Andrew invites Milo over, to play a game which he claims will give Milo enough money to take his wife permanently off his hands. But Andrew hates to lose, and the game turns out to really be about revenge and humiliation.
