Answer: Gene Kelly

Kelly was born Eugene Curran Kelly August 23, 1912 in East Liberty, PA. My absolute favorite was "Singin' in the Rain" released in 1952.
Let me tell you - this man could dance! Fred Astaire was great but I'll take Gene Kelly just about every time. He also appeared in "Xanadu" along with Olivia Newton-John in 1980.
2. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "The Parent Trap" (1961) "That Darn Cat!" (1965) "The Trouble with Angels" (1966)

She was also a very young "Pollyanna" in 1960. Mills has had a very active movie and TV career. Her older sister Juliet starred in the '70s sitcom "Nanny and the Professor".
3. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1962) "Tender Mercies" (1983) "Secondhand Lions" (2003)

Answer: Robert Duvall

Duvall's career has been prolific. In addition to his movie career, he has appeared on lots of TV shows, most notably in the mini-series "Lonesome Dove". One of his early movie roles was in the 1970 film "M*A*S*H" as Major Frank Burns.
4. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "The Blues Brothers" (1980) "Splash" (1984) "Little Shop of Horrors" (1986)

Answer: John Candy

Candy was from Canada and part of the Second City troupe. One of his biggest hits was "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" co-starring Steve Martin. My favorite of this comedic giant was lovable "Uncle Buck".
5. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "Ghost" (1990) "Ghosts of Mississippi" (1996) "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" (1998)

Answer: Whoopi Goldberg

She was born Caryn Johnson in New York City - the year 1955. Her first big breakthrough came in 1985 playing Celie in "The Color Purple". She is so great in "Sister Act"!
6. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "Oh God" (1977) "Tootsie" (1982) "Mr. Mom" (1983)

Answer: Teri Garr

I absolutely loved her in "Young Frankenstein" ("that's Fronkensteen"). She appeared on many TV shows such as "Star Trek", "The Bob Newhart Show", "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour" and even "The Andy Griffith Show".
7. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "Roman Holiday" (1953) "The Big Country" (1958) "The Omen" (1976)

Answer: Gregory Peck

Gregory Peck was born on April 5, 1916. Some of his other movies included "Moby Dick" in 1956 and "To Kill a Mockingbird" in 1962. He was offered the role of Grandpa Joe in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" but died before he could accept. In 1982 Peck starred in the TV mini-series "The Blue and the Gray" portraying Abraham Lincoln.
8. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "Car Wash" (1976) "Stir Crazy" (1980) "Brewster's Millions" (1985)

Answer: Richard Pryor

Richard Pryor did it all--stand-up comedy, TV, films, writer, producer.
He even appeared in an episode of "The Partridge Family". His own TV show on NBC--"The Richard Pryor Show"--was short-lived due to some of the controversial material. On that show you will also see a young Robin Williams and Paula Poundstone.
9. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955) "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" (1969) "Brainstorm" (1983)

Answer: Natalie Wood

She starred in my all-time favorite Christmas movie, "Miracle on 34th Street" as well as "West Side Story". Sadly, she drowned in 1981 under mysterious circumstances. Her co-star in the movie "Brainstorm", Christopher Walken, was a guest on the yacht where the drowning occurred, as well as Natalie's husband Robert Wagner.

The filming of "Brainstorm" had not been completed at the time of Wood's death.
10. Who is the common actor/actress in these films? "Popeye" (1980) "Dead Poets Society" (1989) "Awakenings" (1990)

Answer: Robin Williams

The greatest of all time. Not only was he a brilliant energetic stand-up performer but he was hilarious as Mork from Ork. His dramatic roles gave you an insight as to just how talented and creative he was. He appeared regularly for "Comic Relief" benefits along with Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg. He died in 2015.
