Osamu Tezuka's "Metropolis" Trivia Quiz

Answer: Ziggurat

While similar to the tower of Babel, the Ziggurat is meant to be controlled by the robot Tima. Tima eventually does gain control of the tower and almost kills all of humanity in the process. In the very beginning of the movie Duke Red, standing atop the Ziggurat, says "May it stand forever! Our Ziggurat!". Later in the movie, Atlas compares the Ziggurat to the Tower of Babel and mentions that food handouts have stopped during the Ziggurat's celebration.

Rock is against all robots and doesn't want them anywhere in Metropolis. Whenever he sees one operating outside of its sector, he destroys it without question. He is against Tima ruling the tower and thinks that only Duke Red is worthy of that position. Rock never appears in the original manga by Tezuka, but does appear in another manga, "Next World" by Tezuka.

This is clearly stated several time throughout the movie. Shunsaku is sent to investigate Dr. Laughton and the underground experiments he has been running for quite some time now.

Answer: Detective

Pero may pass to any level in Metropolis. Sewer worker robots, such as Fifi, are only allowed on Level 3. Pero is named after a dog in the movie, as Shunsaku passes by a dog and remembers his old dog's name.

Answer: Rock

Rock shoots the capsule containing Tima and soon the whole place is on fire. Shunsaku and Kenichi both go into the fire, Shunsaku finding the book containing details about Tima, and Kenichi finding Tima herself. After the fire, Kenichi and Shunsaku are split apart for some time.

Answer: Fifi

Fifi works in the sewers and is only allowed in Zone-3, although Fifi does help Kenichi and Tima get to Zone-2. As Kenichi and Tima are entering Zone-2, Rock catches sight of them and starts shooting at them. Fifi steps in the line of fire and is killed by Rock, as he hates robots. Pero is the detective robot who helps Shunsaku. Rokoko, an alien of the Fumoon species, is from Next World, also by Osamu Tezuka.

Answer: Atlas

Pero is the first robot Atlas shoots. Shunsaku has no problems with robots and is helped by the detective robot Pero throughout Metropolis. Atlas tells Kenichi "We're not just a street gang, we're building a movement here!" and "...the uniform that I'm going to die in is the uniform of the revolution that will change this World." after Kenichi lies to Atlas about being a junior reporter. Kenichi enjoys the robots and lives with them at the end of the film.

Answer: Radio

At the end of the movie, Tima's voice comes out of the radio saying "Who am I?". Kenichi and Tima are almost caught because of the radio suddenly turning on.

Answer: Rock

Rock does not want the robots to rule the Earth and possibly harm his father, Duke Red, so he hits the destruct button. Meanwhile, Kenichi has been trying to rescue Tima and manages to get her out of the throne. Kenichi manages to grab her hand as Tima slips, but her hand slips through his and she falls, never to be seen again.

Answer: Heart

We see her artifical heart shutdown earlier, revealing that the little vial-like object is in fact her heart. Her radio is shown at the very end with her speaking through it. In the Japanese version only, there is a picture shown at the end of a shop called Kenichi and Tima with the words Robot Company underneath it. Tima can be seen in the window of the shop with Kenichi carrying things around in front of it.
