After Suzanne almost overdoses, she is placed into rehab. When her mother comes for a visit she introduces her to her roommate. The exchange between Doris and Aretha was quite funny!

Doris starts to make the smoothie using healthy ingredients such as yogurt and bananas, then Suzanne walks in. Doris starts to tell Suzanne that Suzanne's agent has disappeared and has stolen all of Suzanne's money. Suzanne, obviously distraught, goes into a panic and leaves the room. Doris opens up her cabinet and pours a healthy dose of vodka into the blender before turning it on.

Suzanne is on a break from filming "L.A. Beat" and is walking around the backlot. She sees Evelyn Ames on line and decides to have a chat with her about Jack Faulkner. As Suzanne and Evelyn are walking away we see several people waiting on line. One of those people is Freddy Krueger.

Doris insists that Suzanne is such a great singer. We see Suzanne sing twice during the course of this movie. One time is at Suzanne's welcome home party and the other is at the end of the film when Suzanne is recording a music video.

There are several mentions/scenes involving Doris' drinking throughout the movie. Suzanne's grandmother (Doris' mother), mentions at Suzanne's welcome home party that she is leaving because Doris has started drinking her wine.
