Jimmy Harper (played by Christian Campbell) comes to Mary's rescue, telling her it is a harmless old turtle. He picks it up and shows it to her and she even pets it. He then offers to carry her books to class for her.

Mae tries to clear out the party goers from the living room and finds Sally asleep in a chair, wrapped up in a window curtain. Upon waking Sally comments on the crazy night they all had and then shuffles off to care for her baby while Mae tries to clean up before Jack brings home their next customer.

Sally practically lives at Mae's house, smokes marijuana all the time and entertains the visitors. She also has a baby which she cares little for (she accidentally sets its bassinet on fire and eventually sells the baby to a Chinese man to fund her reefer habit).

Mae (played by the talented Ana Gasteyer from "Saturday Night Live") owns her home which Jack (Steven Weber) has turned into a reefer den. Mae got hooked on the wacky weed when she was in high school and depends on Jack to keep her in supply. Although he treats her badly, she sings that he is occasionally nice to her and buys her lingerie, which she wears almost exclusively throughout the movie.

Joan of Arc introduces Jesus as if he were Tom Jones performing a nightly Las Vegas club act. Jesus tries to warn Jimmy of the dangers of marijuana and encourages him to turn to religion. In the end, Jimmy refuses Jesus's help and goes back to his sinful ways at the reefer den.

Answer: struck a pedestrian with Mary's car

Jimmy steals Mary's car and he and Sally go for a joyride. However, tragedy strikes when the the two hit a pedestrian who is crossing the road. Sally flees to the reefer den and Jimmy heads for Mary's house where he realizes that, even though the demon weed has taken control, he loves Mary Lane and wants to be with her.

They sing a love song together and Mary offers to run away with Jimmy where he'll be safe. While she is packing, Jimmy tries to escape on his own so that he won't get her involved.

But his escape is foiled when Jack arrives and tricks him to coming back to the reefer den.

Answer: crazy tomato

The two sing "Little Mary Sunshine" and it shows how the reefer turns Mary from a conservative, goody-two-shoes to a wild, sex-crazed woman. Ralph enjoys himself at first but then realizes that Mary is crazy and a little dangerous. While the two are in a compromising position, Jimmy walks in on them and a fight ensues.

Answer: Romeo and Juliet

The two are studying "Romeo and Juliet" in school and don't know how the play ends, but they imagine that the young lovers marry, have babies and live happily ever after. Jimmy finds out from Mae and Jack that the play ends tragically, but does not reveal this to Mary in her final moments.

Answer: Mae

Jack is the one who pulls the trigger and kills Mary, but he frames Jimmy. Mae realizes that she can't take it anymore - she stubs out her joint and vows never to smoke again. Jack tries to rough her up and she strikes back, killing him with a garden hoe.

She must save Jimmy and knows the only way to do it is to plead his case to the President, who is visiting town. She runs into the street, covered in blood and begs for Jimmy's life.

Answer: State of the Union address

The President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, tells them to utilize the newspapers of William Randolph Hearst, radio programs and anti-drug slogans. They'll also look to American icons like Uncle Sam, George Washington and the Statue of Liberty to spread the word.

Look closely during this scene - Sally is dressed as Lady Liberty, Ralph is Uncle Sam and Jack is George Washington.

Answer: Tell Your Children

This is really a movie in a movie. Alan Cummings' character shows the town's parents the propaganda film "Tell Your Children", which tells the story of Jimmy and Mary. The parents, who are skeptical in the beginning about the dangers of marijuana, are fully convinced of its evil and vow to keep their town and kids safe.

Alan Cummings plays several characters in "Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical", including the narrator, the crossing guard, the organ player at church, the reefer god during the orgy, a participant at the reefer den and the President.
