Question 1 of 10
1. At Cedric's suggestion, Harry takes his golden egg up to the prefects' bathroom with him, to take a bath in privacy. However when opened the egg still makes a horrible screeching sound and Harry quickly closes it. Who suggests to Harry that he should put it under water, as the 'other boy' had done? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Once Harry realizes that the second task will involve the merpeople in the lake, he realizes that he will have to find a way to stay alive underwater. He and Hermione search the library, with no success. Who is that suggests Gillyweed to Harry, and even provides him with a sample? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. The merpeople challenge the champions to reclaim their treasures, which had been taken from them. According to the song, they have one hour to reclaim these treasures before they will be lost forever. What are the treasures? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. During the second task, Harry uses Gillyweed to allow him to breathe underwater, while Fleur and Cedric use the Bubblehead Charm. How does Viktor Krum accomplish the task? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Left alone in Dumbledore's office. Harry finds himself fascinated with the Pensieve, and Dumbledore's thoughts that are swirling around in it. He is drawn into the Pensieve and ends up watching a trial where convicted Death Eater, Igor Karkaroff, is trying to secure his freedom from Azkaban by naming other Death Eaters. Who does he name, that surprises Harry? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. The third task, that of the maze, is probably the only part of the movie that really disappointed me. In the book, the maze is full of monsters and challenges to overcome, and riddles to be solved. In the movie, it is little more than an immense, moving shrubbery. The only monster within is Viktor Krum, who is found attacking Fleur Delacour. The fact that Viktor is acting under the Imperius Curse is not adequately explained either.
However the resolution of the maze is the same in both the book and the movie, with both Harry and Cedric touching the Triwizard Cup at the same time, and being whisked away to just outside the Riddle home. How are they taken there?
Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Who kills Cedric Diggory? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. After Wormtail performs the ritual that brings Voldemort back in his full strength, Voldemort touches his wand to the Dark Mark on Wormtail's arm, thereby summoning those Death Eaters not in Azkaban. Who responds to the summons, confirming our friends' longstanding belief that he is indeed a Death Eater? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. After dealing with the remaining Death Eaters, Voldemort decides that it is finally time to kill Harry. While they are dueling, they both cast spells at the same time, and the streams of magic from their wands connect. As the magic between them intensifies, the ghost-like bodies of those people who have been last killed by Voldemort's wand appear, to give Harry the chance to escape. How many of the wand's victims appear? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Who put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Moaning Myrtle

In the book Harry must also put his head underwater to hear the song, which is another piece of advice that he gets from Myrtle. Having died in a bathroom, Myrtle spends a lot of time travelling through the pipes at Hogwarts, and soon makes an appearance in the prefects' bathroom, much to Harry's initial dismay.

Hermione, Ron and Harry had struck up a kind of friendship with Myrtle during 'Chamber of Secrets', when they made the Polyjuice Potion in her bathroom. It was when they realized that Myrtle was the student killed by the monster from the Chamber of Secrets, that they were able to find the entrance to the Chamber.
2. Once Harry realizes that the second task will involve the merpeople in the lake, he realizes that he will have to find a way to stay alive underwater. He and Hermione search the library, with no success. Who is that suggests Gillyweed to Harry, and even provides him with a sample?

Answer: Neville Longbottom

Neville has a real aptitude for the study of magical plants, and Mad Eye Moody had given him the book containing the information about Gillyweed. We later find out that this is deliberately done, so that Neville would have the information that Harry needed. Moody is also the one who suggests to Hagrid that he show Harry the dragons, and who gives Cedric the push he needs to figure out the mystery of the golden egg, which he then passes on to Harry.
In the book, it is Dobby the House Elf who gives Harry the Gillyweed, on the morning of the second challenge.
3. The merpeople challenge the champions to reclaim their treasures, which had been taken from them. According to the song, they have one hour to reclaim these treasures before they will be lost forever. What are the treasures?

Answer: people who the champions care a lot about

Fleur's treasure is her sister Gabrielle, Cedric's is his girlfriend Cho Chang, Viktor's treasure is Hermione and Harry's is Ron. Harry is the first to reach the treasures, but the last to leave because he will not go until he is certain that all of the people are rescued. Beset upon by Grindylows, Fleur is unable to complete the task and rescue her sister.

Despite the anger of the merpeople, Harry rescues both Ron and Gabrielle.
4. During the second task, Harry uses Gillyweed to allow him to breathe underwater, while Fleur and Cedric use the Bubblehead Charm. How does Viktor Krum accomplish the task?

Answer: Transfiguration

Viktor attempts to transfigure himself into a shark. He isn't completely successful at this, and ends up with a shark's head and human legs, but it is sufficient to allow him to complete the task.
Cedric wins this event, being first to return with his treasure, however Harry is awarded full marks for his moral fibre, in not wanting to see any of the hostages left behind, and ends up tying with Cedric.

Answer: Professor Snape

During the trial, after this accusation is made, a much younger Dumbledore rises and speaks on Snape's defense. He acknowledges the fact that Snape had been a Death Eater, but swears that Snape had switched sides and acted as a spy, at great personal risk, before Voldemort's downfall.

In the movie, Karkaroff then identifies Barty Crouch Jr. as a Death Eater, to the shock of everyone in the room, including Crouch's father. In the book, Crouch has already been arrested, and is, in fact, tried and sentenced to Azkaban as part of the trial that Harry witnesses.

Answer: The Cup is a Portkey.

Harry and Cedric reach the cup at the same time, but only because Harry went back to help Cedric when he was caught up in some magical plants (possibly Devil's Snare). Even though Cedric insists that Harry take the Cup first, Harry suggests that they touch it together, as co-winners of the tournament.

However Moody has turned the Cup into a Portkey, and Cedric and Harry are whisked away to the cemetery outside of the Riddle house, where Voldemort can perform the ceremony that will return him to his corporeal form.
7. Who kills Cedric Diggory?

Answer: Wormtail

When Cedric and Harry first arrive at the cemetery it is empty, but Harry recognises it from his dream. Wormtail soon arrives, carrying the feeble creature that is Lord Voldemort. Voldemort instructs Wormtail to 'Kill the spare', which he does, using Voldemort's wand, and the killing curse, 'Avada Kedavra'.

Answer: Lucius Malfoy

Lucius Malfoy's obvious fascination with the dark side of magic, and random remarks dropped by his son Draco have long given rise to speculation that he is a Death Eater. His response to Voldemort's summons, along with the fathers of Crabbe and Goyle, finally confirms this speculation.
In the book, Voldemort is more critical with these Death Eaters than he was in the movie, condemning them and promising punishment for their betrayal, a betrayal that has to have happened to keep them from being locked up in Azkaban.
I am curious as to how Wormtail came to be in possession of Voldemort's wand, since it was presumably left at the Potters' house when he tried, and failed to kill the Harry as a baby.

Answer: 4

Most recently killed, and therefore first to emerge is Cedric Diggory, followed by the Riddle's old gardener, Frank Bryce, then Harry's mother and father. In the book, Ministry of Magic employee, Bertha Jorkins, also a recent victim of Voldemort's wand, also emerges from the wand and lends support.

This diversion allows Harry to escape via the Portkey, taking Cedric's body back with him. In the movie, the only explanation for this are the words 'Priori Incantatem', which are muttered by Dumbledore.

The book explains that because Harry and Voldemort's wands are brothers, in that their magic cores are feathers from the same Phoenix, the connection of the two wands caused Voldemort's wand to 'regurgitate spells it has performed'.
10. Who put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire?

Answer: Barty Crouch Jr.

Although Voldemort could use any enemy's blood in the ritual that restored him to life, he wanted to use Harry's blood. Barty Crouch Junior's impersonation of Mad Eye Moody (through the use of Polyjuice Potion), allows him to manipulate the events of the Triwizard Tournament, ensuring that it is Harry who reaches the Cup first, and is transported to the graveyard.

The first step in the manipulation is to make sure that Harry is named a champion, which means putting his name in the Goblet, and fooling the Goblet into naming a fourth champion.
