The symbol, that was with it, was a snake around the globe, which was also the Knights of Aragon's symbol. Armand was a knight and the knights wanted to destroy only one thing...America.

McGivens was an ugly guy who worked for Armand. We know his teeth were wooden because Alejandro said to him that he 'would remember a man with wooden teeth.' His cross shaped scar was just next to his right eye. McGivens was sent to kill, blackmail and hurt people, in order to get something. He said that he was doing the Lord's work, but he certainly wasn't.

I don't know whether this was meant to be significant, because of his saying that he was doing the 'Lord's work', or whether it was a coincidence. However, it made him look really dangerous and scary. The scar was just next to his right eye.

Cortez owned a stall in the market, and was selling a large knife. McGivens was then seen carving his new wooden teeth with the knife, so Cortez told him how much it cost. McGivens obviously wanted the knife, because it was a weapon that was deadly, but he also knew that Cortez owned a deed that was worth a lot. So he offered Cortez $500 for the knife and the deed. Cortez refused the offer, because he and his wife only owned a little piece of land, and they could sell the deed for more when they required the money.
