Question 10 of 10
10. Finally...here we are! 2018 gave us a brand new 'Halloween'! Written and directed by David Gordon Green and co-written by Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, this film was written to be a direct sequel to the 1978 original. It's now 40 years since the events took place in Haddonfield. Michael Myers escaped from Smith's Grove (again) and went on the hunt for Laurie, who's been living in total fear and paranoia since her first encounter with Michael in 1978. At the same time, she's a strong woman who's learned how to defend herself...and has been waiting for Michael to return for forty years!

There was a creepy scene in the film where a podcaster named Dana Haines was in a public bathroom stall at a gas station. She heard someone enter the bathroom, then saw a pair of large boots on a man standing outside her stall. A closed fist came over the top of the door and opened, dropping something in there with her. What was it?
Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the original 1978 film 'Halloween', what was Judith Myers doing right before her younger brother Michael murdered her?

Answer: Brushing her hair

Michael was six years old when he murdered his sister Judith by stabbing her to death on Halloween night. She was in her room sitting in front of her vanity mirror brushing her hair. Her boyfriend had just left the house. When their parents got home, they found Michael outside with his clown costume on and a bloody knife in his hand.

They took off his clown mask and stared at him in what looked like confusion while he just stared straight ahead with a blank look on his face. That's pretty much in my opinion part of what made this film such a creepy classic...the story, as well as the character of Michael, was very mysterious! There's no real explanation as to why Michael became a killer...except that he's a psychopath!
2. How did Michael kill nurse Karen in 'Halloween II' (1981)?

Answer: Scalded her to death

Karen went with the hospital's paramedic named Budd to the hydrotherapy room to enjoy some alone time in the hot tub. When Budd got out to check the tub's temperature, he was strangled to death by Michael, who also killed Karen by continuously dunking her head into the scalding water. Each time he pulled her head up before dunking her again, her face appeared more and more burnt with blistering and peeling skin!
3. The year 1988 gave us 'Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers' in which Myers made his return ten years after the events in the first two films. He found out he had a niece. What was her name?

Answer: Jamie

Due to the hospital explosion in 'Halloween II", Michael wound up in a comatose state for ten years. During an ambulance transfer to Smith's Grove Sanitarium, he overheard that his sister Laurie Strode had a daughter (played by Danielle Harris). From that point he managed to make another escape so he could pursue his niece with the intent of killing her!
4. 'Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers' (1989) had a scene where his niece tried to hide from Michael by climbing into a stolen coffin in the attic of his old home. When he found her, she tried to play on her murderous uncle's emotions by asking him to remove his mask. After he actually removed it, she told him something. What was it that his niece told him?

Answer: "See? You look just like me."

After she said this and touched his face, Michael quickly put the mask back on and went right back into killer mode, realizing his niece was trying to talk her way out of being his next victim. Dr. Loomis showed up soon after and used the young girl as bait to distract Michael long enough to tranquilize him.
5. The year 1995 gave us 'Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers', which was part 6 in the film franchise. This film starred Paul Rudd as Tommy Doyle and Donald Pleasence in his last role as Dr. Sam Loomis. It also brought back the character of Laurie's daughter. What happened to her in this film?

Answer: Michael killed her.

The poor girl eventually met her demise at the hands of her uncle. He used a corn thresher in a barn to kill her. The character of Michael's niece was played by J.C. Brandy in this film. Originally the role was played by Danielle Harris.
6. The seventh installment in the 'Halloween' film franchise was 'Halloween H20: 20 Years Later', which was released in 1998. Jamie Lee Curtis reprised her role as Laurie Strode who was now an adult with a teenage son named John. She worked as the headmistress of Hillcrest Academy under a different name to not be found. What name did Laurie go by?

Answer: Keri Tate

Laurie faked her own death to be free of her brother Michael. Everything seemed to be going perfectly for her until Michael found out her whereabouts and stalked Laurie and her family after he managed to steal her personal information file from Marion Chambers, a former colleague of Dr. Loomis. Chambers was played by Nancy Stephens, who originally played the role in 'Halloween' (1978) and 'Halloween II' (1981). Josh Hartnett also starred as Laurie's son, as well as Michelle Williams as his girlfriend Molly. Adam Arkin, LL Cool J, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe and Janet Leigh also starred.
7. In 2002, the seventh sequel titled 'Halloween: Resurrection' was released. It was the eighth film in the franchise which starred Busta Rhymes, Tyra Banks, Katee Sackhoff, and Jamie Lee Curtis who again reprised her role as Laurie Strode. In this installment, Michael's old home was being used to stream a live reality horror show for the internet. What was the name of the show?

Answer: Dangertainment

Several college students won a competition to be on 'Dangertainment'. The stipulation was that they spend one night in the old Myers home and try to figure out why and how infamous murderer Michael became a killer! Unfortunately for them and everyone involved in the "fake" reality show, the real Michael decided to go home.

When the bodies started piling up, there was question as to whether it was real or part of the show!
8. The year 2007 brought us the first remake of 'Halloween', which was directed, written and produced by Rob Zombie. This reboot gave the viewers way more insight as to how young Michael went through the transition of feeling urges to kill, before finally becoming a silent, full blown deadly killer! In this gritty reimagining of the 1978 original, who was Michael's first human victim?

Answer: A bully at school

A bully at school named Wesley Rhoades was beaten to death by Michael while walking home from school through a wooded area. Rhoades was played by Daryl Sabara, who also starred as Juni Cortez in the 'Spy Kids' film series. This version of the film was made to feel brutal and dirty, and lacked the mysterious nature of the original movie, since it showed us more of ten year old Michael and what he went through before, during and after the brutal killings he brought upon his victims. It also showed how he dealt with his stay at Smith's Grove, and his obsession with masks to hide his face and become withdrawn from everyone!

This film starred Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Loomis, as well as Brad Dourif, Sheri Moon Zombie, William Forsythe, Danielle Harris (who was the only actor to appear from the original film series) and Scout Taylor-Compton as Laurie Strode. Daeg Faerch played 10 year old Michael, while Tyler Mane played the iconic character as an adult. There were also several other actors that fans would recognize such as Dee Wallace, Danny Trejo, Ken Foree and Sybil Danning.
9. With the success of Zombie's 2007 remake, he later released 'Halloween II' in 2009. This film showed us how Laurie Strode was dealing with the trauma of being harassed by Michael two years after the horrific events took place. Much of the same cast was back for the sequel. Dr. Loomis went on to write a book about the tragedies that took place during Michael's killing spree. What was the name of the novel he wrote?

Answer: The Devil Walks Among Us

Loomis got praise as well as criticism for his decision to exploit the horrific tragedies at the expense of the victim's families. Zombie's version of the story had Loomis' character quite different from the original (played by Donald Pleasence). The whole hospital scene was shortened in Zombie's version as opposed to the original 1981 film where most of the movie took place there. Octavia Spencer played the role of Nurse Daniels in the 2009 version.
10. Finally...here we are! 2018 gave us a brand new 'Halloween'! Written and directed by David Gordon Green and co-written by Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, this film was written to be a direct sequel to the 1978 original. She heard someone enter the bathroom, then saw a pair of large boots on a man standing outside her stall. A closed fist came over the top of the door and opened, dropping something in there with her. What was it?

Answer: Human teeth

Poor Dana was scared for her life. Things did get ugly for several victims in this film to say the least. Aside from Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her famous role of Laurie Strode, Nick Castle also donned the mask once again to play Myers just as he did in the 1978 original.
