"Inconceivable" is a word that Vizzini always says when he is surprised by something. I guess you could call it his trademark line. There is a time that Inigo doubts that Vizzini knows the correct definition of the word.

"As you wish" is a quote from the beginning of the movie. When Westley is a mere farmboy for Princess Buttercup, he always says, "As you wish" when she orders him to do something. Soon enough, we learn that by saying "As you wish", he means "I love you." In my opinion, this is a pretty lame part, but at the same time, that is the reason I love this movie!

Dread Pirate Roberts is, as his name implies, a dreaded pirate. Pretty redundant, isn't it? He is infamous for taking no prisoners. After revealing their love for one another, Westley leaves Buttercup in search of wealth so they can marry. When he fails to return, Buttercup is convinced that he has been captured by Dread Pirate Roberts. What she doesn't know is that Roberts has been retired for fifteen years and that he has actually given his title over to Westley instead.

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." This is the famous line that Inigo wants to say when he comes face-to-face with the murderer of his father, a man with six fingers on his right hand. He has been planning it for years. He is friends with Vizzini and Fezzik, he himself being part of the trio of kidnappers who capture Princess Buttercup.

Prince Humperdinck is Princess Buttercup's new fiance. She becomes engaged to him after she is certain that her beloved Westley is never returning for her. After they are engaged, she is captured by Fezzik, Vizzini, and Inigo, and the movie continues from there.

The Fire Swamp is a dreaded forest that no one has ever emerged from ... until Westley takes on that challenge. He and Buttercup encounter the fire spurts that come from underground (for which the Fire Swamp is named). They also locate the lightning-speed quicksand and defeat the ROUSes, also known as Rodents of Unusual Size.

Fred Savage is the actor who plays the grandson in the movie. He is the brother of actor Ben Savage from "Boy Meets World". Fred is also well-known for playing Kevin Arnold in the television series "The Wonder Years".

The Pit of Despair is basically an underground torture chamber that Westley is taken to for "pain research" reasons by Count Rugen. The Count has designed his own contraption called "The Machine" for his experiments. Before Westley is actually tortured by The Machine, however, his previous wounds are cared for by an albino who takes care of the Pit of Despair.

Princess Buttercup is basically the main character of this movie. She is in love with Westley, but she is led to believe that he has been killed. However, as we learn in the movie, even death cannot hinder true love ... unless you are "all dead".

Miracle Max is played by Billy Crystal. Fezzik and Inigo visit Miracle Max when they find that Westley has been a victim of the Pit of Despair. Miracle Max eventually tells them that there are two different states of death: mostly dead and all dead. Luckily, Westley is only mostly dead.
