Detective Dugan tells Lucas the name of the bank when they get there. He thinks Lucas is going to rob it, but when Lucas walks in, he asks an employee where the new accounts are.

Answer: He can't pay rent.

He mentions to Lucas at Dr. Horvath's that he needs to get treatment for his daughter who has been in a special school. He also mentions that he can't pay his rent for the apartment he is living in, and that he is about to be thrown out.
