Question 1 of 10
1. (1996) My name is Jim Phelps, and I had been running a team of special operatives for years. I can't remember exactly when it was that I decided to put a little extra aside for my retirement, but when they caught wind of someone in my unit being a double agent, I had to do something about it. I orchestrated things to cause the deaths of most of the members of my squad, including the illusion of my own death. This drew suspicion to the only member left alive, leaving me with the promise of an enormous payday to retire on. It should have worked, but I underestimated his resourcefulness. Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. (2004) My name is Isabel Lahiri. Despite the fact that my father was a famous crook, I was a police officer in Amsterdam. When a very sophisticated heist was pulled in my city, I recognized the handiwork of my old boyfriend, Rusty Ryan. I did intend to catch him and turn him in, but things didn't go exactly as I planned. When his gang of con-artists reunited me with my father, I realized how much I still loved them both, so I just decided to join the bad guys myself. Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. (2004) My name is Officer Hanson, and I have done a terrible thing. I was partnered with Officer Ryan, but I couldn't stomach being in the same car after I watched him molest a woman, just because she was black. I never thought of myself as being prejudiced, but one night, after I picked up a hitchhiker, I got really nervous that he was reaching into his pocket to pull a gun on me, and I shot him. It turned out that he was only reaching for a St. Christopher's statue, like the one I had on my dash, but because he was black, I assumed the worst. I couldn't face the enquiry and the thought of maybe losing my job, so I dragged his body into a field, and left him there. Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. (1972) My name is Michael Corleone, and I grew up in a family who built their fortune on illegal activities. When I came back from being a soldier, I made a promise to myself that I would not embrace the family legacy of violence, When someone almost killed my father, I began to see things differently, and stepped up to the plate to take control of the family.

Answer: (Two Words, first one The)
Question 5 of 10
5. (2005) My name is Edmund Pevensie, and I guess I have always been the most difficult one out of all of the kids in my family. It was hard being evacuated during the war, and having to listen to everything my older brother and sister told me. So when the queen offered to raise me up above my brother and sisters, and make me a prince, I believed her. By the time I realized how evil she was, it was too late, I had already betrayed them. Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. (2002) I am Detective Will Dormer, and I have never thought of myself as a bad cop. But when I accidentally shot and killed my partner while investigating a murder in Alaska, I let people think that it was the killer who had done it. We were in pursuit of the killer when the shooting occurred, and the fog and my exhaustion contributed to the accident. In all honesty, I have to question just how accidental the shooting really was, since his death left him unable to testify against me in another case back home. Could I really be that evil? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. (1989) My name is James Court, and for years I have had the pleasure of raising my beautiful and brilliant daughter pretty much on my own. I have also run a nursing home, and have given those people more care and love than any of their family members ever did. So I really didn't see that what I was doing was theft. Why should their families get their money when they died, when they never cared for them the way that I did? Besides, the money I took really wasn't for me...it was for my daughter. Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. (2005) I don't need to give you my name, I wouldn't know which one to use any way. I was a good man, a Jedi Knight who used my power for good. But the vision of my beloved wife dying in childbirth led me to seek the power to stop that vision from becoming reality. Ironically, in embracing the Dark Side, I caused my beloved wife to turn away from me and to despair, thus making the promise of the dream a reality. Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. (1948) My name is Brandon Shaw. As an experiment in the rights of the intellectually superior to kill those not as worthy, my friend Philip and I strangled our acquaintance David. To further display how superior we were, we then gave a party while David's body was concealed in a chest in the room where the party was held. Both David's father and his fiancée were at the party, as well as our old professor, Rupert Cadell, who figured out what we'd done. Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. (1994) My name is Andy Dufresne, and I was sent to jail for the murder of my wife and her lover. The fact that I didn't commit those murders didn't really matter to anyone but me though. In real life I was a banker, and the warden soon found that he could use my knowledge to make himself a rich man. I had to go to prison to learn how to break the law, but that's just what I did in helping the warden lay a paper trail to cover his butt, and launder his illegally obtained money. Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Mission: Impossible

Brian De Palma directed this action-packed movie, based on the old television series. Jon Voight starred as the traitorous Phelps, and Tom Cruise starred as Ethan Hunt, the agent framed for the deaths of his team. Emmanuelle Beart, Henry Czerny, Ving Rhames, Jean Reno and Emilio Estevaz also starred, to name a few.

Answer: Ocean's Twelve

This disappointing sequel to the blockbuster hit, "Ocean's Eleven", was set three years after the successful robbery of three Las Vega casinos. The casinos' owner, Terry Benedict, caught up with the gang and demanded his money back. The original group, plus Ocean's wife, found that they needed to set up some spectacular heists in Europe to get enough cash to pay Benedict back. Catherine Zeta-Jones joined the cast as police officer Lahiri, under Steven Soderbergh's direction.

Answer: Crash

Hanson's story was just one of a number of inter-related vignettes that dealt with issues of prejudice and discrimination, in this terrific film that was written and directed by Paul Haggis. One scene of particular irony involved a young African American, who expressed his anger at the way white people responded to him, just before pulling a gun on them, stealing their SUV, and justifying their reactions.
Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Tony Danza, Matt Dillon and Karina Arroyave are only a few names from the cast of this amazing movie.

Answer: The Godfather

Based on the book by Mario Puzo, and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, this was the first movie in a trilogy about the lives and dealings of the Corleones, a violent, Mafia family. Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan and Robert Duvall are only a few of the stars of this Best Picture Oscar winner.

Answer: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

When the Pevensie children were evacuated during the Battle of Britain, they found an amazing world in the back of the professor's wardrobe. There they found that they were the Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve who were foretold to reign over Narnia, and bring the end to the White Witch's reign. Unfortunately they had to deal with their brother's treachery, and defeat the Witch's army in battle first, with the help of Aslan.
This delightful rendering of C.S. Lewis' book starred Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Mosely and Anna Popplewell, and was directed by Andrew Adamson.

Answer: Insomnia

Al Pacino delivered a wonderful performance as the exhausted and conflicted Dormer, who found Alaska's white nights impossible to cope with. Robin Williams was positively evil as the killer whom the detectives had been called to track down. Martin Donovan and Hilary Swank also starred under Christopher Nolan's direction.

Answer: Say Anything...

It wasn't until her high school graduation that Diane Court realized what she had missed out on by being so focused and driven in her studies; and it wasn't until Lloyd Dobbler fell in love with her that she learned to relax and enjoy herself. When her father was arrested and found guilty of taking money from the seniors under his care, her whole relationship with her father was called into question.
Ione Skye, John Cusack and John Mahoney starred under Cameron Crowe's direction.

Answer: Revenge of the Sith

This third episode of the Star Wars saga completed Anakin Skywalker's transformation from Jedi Knight to the Sith Lord Darth Vadar. The movie explained how, with Vadar following his commands, Palpatine was able to all but wipe out the Jedi, and take over complete control of the Empire.
Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Samuel Jackson and Ian McDiarmid starred under George Lucas' direction.

Answer: Rope

Alfred Hitchcock directed this masterfully suspenseful film. While students of Cadell's (played by Jimmy Stewart), Brandon and Philip had often engaged in lively debates about the superiority of class, and the rights of the upper classes to deal with the lower classes as they saw fit. They expected Cadell to applaud their daring, and could not understand when he did not.
John Dall and Farley Granger also starred.

Answer: The Shawshank Redemption

Based on a Stephen King story, "The Shawshank Redemption" told the story of a wrongfully imprisoned man who never completely gave up hope. His carefully laid plan to tunnel his way out of the prison took years to execute, but he did succeed, leaving behind the gift of hope for his best friend who joined him once he was finally paroled.
Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman and Bob Gunton starred under Frank Darabont's direction.
