David Carradine and his experimental DSRV, called SNARK, are put into action to rescue the surviving crewmembers before an undersea quake dislodges the sub, the oxygen on the sub runs out or the water pressure crushes the sub.

This thriller was based on David Lavallee's novel, "Incident 1000", and also starred Stacy Keach, Ronny Cox, Ned Beatty, and in his feature film debut, Christopher Reeve.

Michelle Pfeiffer played Tally Atwater, an ambitious rookie TV reporter who is guided to stardom by her boss, Warren Justice (Redford), with whom she falls in love. Also starring in 1996's "Up Close & Personal" were Joe Mantegna, Stockard Channing and Kate Nelligan. The movie was nominated for an Oscar for its original song, "Because You Loved Me", sung by Celine Dion.

Detailing a short mission by U.S. Army Rangers in Somalia which turned into a life or death battle lasting the better part of a day, "Black Hawk Down" also starred Sam Shepard, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore, Eric Bana and Jason Isaacs.

"Hanging Up" is about three sisters and how each handles the relationship with their cantankerous father (Walter Matthau in his final role) who is on his death bed. None of them is particularly close to him, and only one (Ryan) deals with him on a regular basis. Cloris Leachman and Adam Arkin also starred in this comedy drama which was also directed by Diane Keaton.

To save his career, Lt. Cmdr. Dodge must prove his skills in war games played against sophisticated ships and submarines with highly experienced crews. Unfortunately what he is given to use is a past-its-prime diesel submarine with a crew of misfits. "Down Periscope" may have slipped under your movie-viewing radar, but it is a very funny film.

The movie also starred Lauren Holly, Rob Schneider, William H. Macy and Bruce Dern.

Pedro and Man (Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong) spend a lot of time trying to score some pot, even while they're unknowingly driving a van made of marijuana which they've driven from Tijuana. Sgt. Stedenko (Stacy Keach) closes in on them as they participate in a Battle of the Bands contest.

This is the first, and by far the best, of the Cheech and Chong movies. My favorite scene is when the cop asks a stoned Pedro for his license. Pedro's response, "Isn't it on the bumper, man?".
