Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The main character, Chris Vaughn, has a tattoo in his left arm.

Answer: True

I do not remember it being mentioned during the actual movie, but during The Rock's commentary he says it is a Special Forces mark. He also mentioned how well his own tattoos were covered for the movie.
2. Where does "Walking Tall" (2004) take place?

Answer: Kitsap County

It takes place in Kitsap County, Washington. After Chris becomes sheriff, he has a decal added to his truck that says Kitsap County. The movie was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia. The original story, about Sheriff Buford Pusser, took place in McNairy County, Tennessee.
3. What is the name of Jay Hamilton's casino?

Answer: The Wild Cherry

Jay was played by Neal McDonough. Neal also stars in the NBC TV series "Medical Investigations", as Dr. Stephen Connor. The Wild Cherry is the scene of Chris' brutal disfiguration by Booth.
4. Did the football game against Jay's cohorts start off the animosity between Chris and Booth?

Answer: Yes

In fact Jay, knowing a lot about Chris, instructs Booth to purposely injure Chris' knee. The Rock comments that the original scene erupted into a huge fight on both sides, but they (the director and cast) really felt like it was too soon for the first confrontation. It turned out to be better to leave it for the loaded dice issue at The Wild Cherry.
5. Chris discovers that the dice are loaded at the casino. What number did he prove that they'd keep coming up as?

Answer: 7

Chris: "You're good, but I saw it."
Stickman: "Saw what?"
Chris: "The switch."
Aaron Douglas plays the casino stickman and can also be seen in "I, Robot" and "Final Destination 2".
6. What make of car does Deni drive?

Answer: Chevrolet

Deni is played by Ashley Scott. Ashley filmed the role of Alex Garrett in the first pilot episode of NBC's "Joey", but the role was eventually given to Andrea Anders. Scott played Asha in the series "Dark Angel" and Lara in the movie "S.W.A.T." You can see the Chevy bow tie on her car in the scene where Deni and Chris are out in front of the Vaughn home.
7. What does Chris promise to the jury that acquits him?

Answer: To run for sheriff

Chris fires his corrupt lawyer and defends himself. He promises the town jury that if he is acquitted of all charges he will run for sheriff in the upcoming election and straighten out the town. Needless to say, he won the election. His lawyer, Crowe, offered him a plea bargain of 3 months house arrest and probation if he'd plead guilty. Chris will not admit that he did anything wrong, so no deal was made.
8. The judge allows the jury to view Chris' knife scars that he acquired from Booth.

Answer: False

Chris displays his wounded chest and abdomen for the jury, but the judge asks them to disregard it, and holds Chris in contempt. The judge rules that the wounds stem from an "unrelated" incident and have no bearing on their case.
9. What was the name of the judge who sat on Chris' trial?

Answer: Leonard Powell

Terence Kelly played this role. Kelly has guest starred in many TV series. Among them are "Airwolf", "X Files", "21 Jumpstreet", "Millennium", "Higher Ground" and "Dead Like Me".
10. After the former sheriff, Stan Watkins, vouches personally for all of his deputies, they are all instantly fired.

Answer: True

Chris fires them immediately, knowing he couldn't trust a single one of them. He makes Ray (Johnny Knoxville) his deputy.
11. Chris brings Ray a badge and makes him a deputy. What TV show do they soon discuss and agree is good?

Answer: Cops

Chris: "Where'd you learn that?"
Ray: "Cops."
Chris: "That's a good show."
Ray had just supplied Chris with some information on getting to the big boys behind the drug dealing.
12. Who owned the red truck that Ray and Chris dismantled in a search for anything illegal?

Answer: Booth

Booth is the only name this character goes by in the movie, and I assume it is a last name, but have no proof. After the duo finds drugs in his boot, they decide to give a little pay back, and tear his red truck up piece by piece. They use hammers and saws, and even eat their food inside the cab!
13. Whose line is this? "Why does it always have to be your fight?"

Answer: Chris' father

Chris Vaughn Sr. is played by veteran actor John Beasley. Throughout The Rock's commentary he refers to John as George Forman, former heavy weight boxing champion of the world. After this line is spoken during the commentary The Rock responds with this funny comment:
"Well, why are you not downstairs cooking on that Forman grill?" He goes into this dialogue about why the Forman grill is so great.
14. How many of Chris' friends and family are inside the Vaughn home when Jay's boys arrive to cause problems?

Answer: 5

Both of his parents, his sister Michelle, nephew Pete, and friend and deputy Ray are all there. Kristen Wilson plays Chris' sister Michelle and Khleo Thomas plays Pete.
15. Which of these characters did Chris Vaughn kill?

Answer: Stan

Stan is killed in the sheriff's office. After the machine gun fire at large, Stan walks in to search for and kill Chris. Deni sends up a few bullets to distract Stan, and Chris kills him with a shotgun from under the building. Booth was killed while in the cell inside the sheriff's office, by all the machine gun fire from Jay's men.
