Answer: Sam Neill

Neill, born on September 14th, 1947 in Tyrone, Northern Ireland, was cast as Dr. Alan Grant. Dr. Grant was a paleontologist and he investigated the fossils of early dinosaurs. In one of his first scenes, he described a dinosaur claw that he'd found and said it likely came from a velociraptor. Dr. Grant was invited to go to a place called Jurassic Park where the head of a company called Ingen, John Hammond, used DNA to build genetically engineered dinosaurs. Once Dr. Grant got to Jurassic Park, he realized that this trip was not the vacation he hoped for since he was dodging dinosaurs that wanted to kill him and other humans.

In one scene Dr. Hammond's grandson, Tim, was stuck in a tree and Dr. Grant climbed the tree to free Tim. At the end of the movie, Dr. Grant and a couple others were cornered by a couple of velociraptors but they managed to escape when a T-Rex arrived and killed the raptors. Before Dr. Grant and the others got to the airplane to fly away from Jurassic Park, he told John Hammond he was not endorsing the park. Neill reprised his role of Dr. Grant in "Jurassic Park III".

He also starred in the films, "Bicentennial Man" and "The Hunt for Red October".

Answer: Laura Dern

Dern, a native of Los Angeles, California, played Dr. Ellie Sattler. Dr. Sattler was a paleobotanist and was thrilled when she and Dr. Alan Grant were invited to go see genetically created dinosaurs on Jurassic Park. When they first started exploring the island, they came upon a brontosaurus and Ellie was amazed at how big the dinosaur was. Upon further exploration of the island, Ellie and others came upon a triceratops that was sick. Ellie decided she would stay behind, to help the triceratops and she told Dr. Grant she would meet him at another location. Ellie went to where the T-rex exhibit was and noticed it had escaped, so she and someone else continued to look around.

They came upon an injured Ian Malcolm and got him in their jeep and drove off.

While they drove, a T-rex charged after them and tried to flip the car over but was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the power to the park went out and Ellie decided she would go to a building and turn it on, so John agreed to provide her instructions to do it. Ellie turned the power on and it was right after she did that that she encountered a velociraptor but, she was not injured by it. Dern reprised her role of Ellie Sattler in "Jurassic Park III", She was also in the movies, "I Am Sam" and "Citizen Ruth".

In 1992, she was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film "Rambling Rose", but she lost to Jodie Foster for "The Silence of the Lambs". Other Oscar nominees for Best Actress in a Leading Role that year were Bette Midler for "For The Boys", Geena Davis for "Thelma and Louise" and Susan Sarandon for "Thelma and Louise".

Answer: Joseph Mazzello

Mazzello, born in 1983 in Rhinebeck, New York, played Tim Murphy. Tim was John Hammond's grandson and Lex's brother and they were first seen at Jurassic Park's visitor's center. They accompanied the others on a tour of the park and all were disappointed when they did not see the dilophosaurus. That night, it was raining hard and the car that Tim and Lex were in was right outside the T-rex exhibit and the T-rex escaped.

The dinosaur attacked the car but Tim and Lex fought him off in the car - only Lex managed to get out of the car.

The T-rex flipped the car into a tree and Dr. Grant climbed up to rescue Tim from the car. When he did, Tim told him he threw up in the car. When Ellie turned the power back on for the park, Tim was on an electrical fence and was electrocuted but Dr. Grant was there to use CPR to revive Tim. Mazzello reprised his role of Tim Murphy in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park".

He also guest starred on the TV series', "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Providence".

Answer: Ariana Richards

Richards landed the role of Lex Murphy in "Jurassic Park". Lex was excited to go on a tour of Jurassic Park and she and Tim rode in the same car. In one scene, they saw a dinosaur about to eat a goat and Lex did not want this to happen. Mr. Gennaro asked Lex what her problem was, since he believed she had once eaten lamb chops. Lex commented that she was a vegetarian.

After Dr. Grant rescued Tim from the car, he got Lex and they walked around and climbed into a tree. The next day, they saw brachiosaurus dinosaurs but these dinosaurs did not attack them since they were herbivores.

When Lex went to pet one of the dinosaurs, he sneezed on her. Richards reprised her role of Lex Murphy in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park". She also guest starred on the TV shows, "Boy Meets World" and "The Golden Girls".

Answer: Wayne Knight

Knight, born on August 7th, 1955 in Cartersville, Georgia was cast as Dennis Nedry. Dennis met with a man named Lewis Dodgson in San Jose, Costa Rica and they devised a plan to steal some embryos from Jurassic Park. Dennis went to work at Jurassic Park and made the power go out one night and it was revealed that Dennis was the only one who knew how to turn the power back on again. Dennis went to go get the embryos and put them in an empty bottle of shaving cream. Before he could be asked to turn on the power, he was in his car with the stolen embryos, looking for a way to get off the island.

His car crashed and he came upon a dilophasurus and started to taunt the dinosaur. The dilophosaurus spat something in Dennis's eye and he was blinded. He went back to his car but the dilophosaurus was there and killed Dennis. Knight starred in the films, "Space Jam", "Chameleon" and "Basic Instinct".

Answer: Richard Attenborough

Attenborough, a native of Cambridge, England had the role of John Hammond. John was head of InGen, the company that produced genetically engineered dinosaurs. He invited Ellie and Alan to accompany him for a tour of Jurassic Park. Before they went on the tour, they all got a tutorial of the genetically engineered dinosaurs.

After the tutorial, John saw his grandchildren, Tim and Lex, and they went up and hugged John. Later in the film, John, Ian and Ellie gathered at a location to discuss getting the power to the park started again.

At this time, John mentioned that theme park rides often broke down and it happened to Disneyland when it opened in 1956 (this was a mistake; the park opened in 1955). John decided that Jurassic Park was a bad idea and he would not open it to the public. Attenborough reprised his role of John Hammond in "The Lost World: Jurassic Park".

He was also seen in the movies, "Miracle on 34th Street" and "Elizabeth". In 1983, he won an Academy Award for Best Director for the film, "Gandhi".

Other Oscar nominees for Best Director that year were Wolfgang Peterson for "Das Boot", Stephen Spielberg for "E.T. The Extra Terrestrial", Sidney Lumet for "The Verdict" and Sydney Pollack for "Tootsie".

Answer: Samuel L. Jackson

Jackson, born in 1948 in Washington, D.C. played Ray Arnold in a small role. Mr. Arnold was in charge of the main control center at the visitor's center and he got upset when the power went out in the park. When the power went out, Ray went out to try and turn it back on but he was killed by a velociraptor.

While Ellie was in the shed to turn the power back on to the park, Mr. Arnold's severed arm landed on her shoulder and she screamed. Mr. Arnold's death was not seen in the movie. Jackson starred in the movies, "Lakeview Terrace", "Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith" and "Snakes on a Plane".

Answer: Jeff Goldblum

Goldblum played Dr. Ian Malcolm in "Jurassic Park". Ian was first seen on a helicopter when John, Ellie, and Alan were flying to Jurassic Park. He asked John and Ellie if they dug up dinosaur bones and they said they did and spoke to Ian about their research.

When the t-rex broke out of its exhibit, Ian tried to get it go away by using a flare but the t-rex charged at him. Ian was not killed, when the t-rex did this but he was seriously injured. Ellie and someone else came on the scene and rescued Ian and took him back to the visitor's center.

At the end of the movie, Ian was seen in a cast boarding the helicopter to leave Jurassic Park. Goldblum reprised his role of Dr. Ian Malcolm in the movie, "The Lost World: Jurassic Park". He was also seen in the film "Independence Day".

He lent his voice to a role in the movie, "Cats and Dogs".

Answer: Martin Ferrero

Ferrero, born on September 29th, 1947 in Brockport, New York, was cast as Donald Gennaro. Mr. Gennaro was a lawyer and accompanied a group of people to Isla Nublar to investigate an attack done by a velociraptor. When the people were at Jurassic Park and ready to take a tour, Mr. Gennaro decided to ride in a car with both Lex and Tim.

When their car stopped outside the t-rex exhibit, Tim scared Lex with goggles and Mr. Gennaro asked Tim where he got the goggles. Tim said from under his seat and Mr. Gennaro asked Tim if the goggles were heavy. Tim said they were so Mr. Gennaro advised him to put them back.

When the t-rex escaped from the exhibit, Mr. Gennaro ran out of the car and into an outside bathroom. The t-rex stormed into the bathroom and killed him. Ferrero guest starred on the TV series', "The X-Files", "The Practice" and "Nash Bridges".

Answer: Whit Hertford

Hertford, a native of Provo, Utah, had the small role of a young tourist. At the beginning of the film, Dr. Grant gave a speech to several people, including the young tourist, about a velociraptor claw that he had found and he described how the velociraptor used it.

After he got done talking, the young tourist mentioned that the velociraptor did not sound scary since it sounded more like a giant turkey. Dr. Grant gave further details about how the velociraptor used the claw and the young tourist the got scared.

Hertford had guest starring stints on the TV shows, "The Ben Stiller Show", "Full House" and "Mr. Belvedere".
