Answer: The Bahamas

In the first movie, the couples retreat took place in Colorado, at a cabin in the snowy mountains. The powdered blue skies, and white sandy beaches of the Bahamas is the backdrop for the couples retreat in this sequel to Tyler Perry's 2007 film "Why Did I Get Married?" Also, Sheila's ex-husband Mike (played by Richard T. Jones) shows up unexpectedly at the retreat.

Answer: Troy

Troy (played by Lamann Rucker) was the sherrif that Sheila, and the others met in Colorado. When her first husband Mike divorced her, she stayed in Colorado with him, and worked in a general store. They've since moved from Colorado to Atlanta so Sheila could be closer to her family and friends.

Answer: Angela

Angela (played by Tasha Smith) is forever fighting with her husband Marcus (Michael Jai White). They argue more in this sequel, because Marcus has a new job as a sportscaster, and most of his fans are ladies. So, Angela automatically suspects any female he talks to, even the ticket agent at the airport.

She also checks his bank statements, his pulse, how far he drives to/from work, and how long it takes him to take his kids to school!

Answer: Lou Gossett, Jr. and Cicely Tyson

Lou Gossett, Jr. ("Enemy Mine", "An Officer And A Gentleman") and Cicely Tyson ("Bustin' Loose", "Hoodlum") play Porter and Ola, an older couple who represent where the couples could be in years to come. Mr. Gossett, Jr. was also featured in the Tyler Perry film "Daddy's Little Girls" (along with Tasha Smith), and Ms. Tyson was also featured in two other Tyler Perry films, "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and "Madea's Family Reunion".

Answer: Gavin and Patricia

On one night during the trip, Gavin and Patricia are heard arguing by Terry and Dianne. At first, Terry believes that the arguing is Angela and Marcus (no surprise there)! Diane sees Patricia going downstairs to get some water and looking very upset, although Patricia insists that she and Gavin are fine.

To everyone's surprise, Patricia unexpectedly announces to all of their friends that she and Gavin were divorcing the night before they go back home, stating that she and Gavin would remain the best of friends, but after 14 years they had grown apart. This was due in no small part to the death of Noah, the couple's young son, who died in a car accident due to Patricia not completely strapping him into his seat, as mentioned in "Why Did I Get Married?".

Answer: His birthday

Of course, it isn't his birthday. Patricia proceeds to embarrass and humiliate him at his job, and in front of his collegues, by bringing in a large, cardboard birthday cake. Out of the birthday cake (accompanied by the Disco classic "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls) comes a gay, male stripper with purple hair, and a purple/green dress.

Gavin storms out of the office and heads to his car, with Patricia chasing and screaming after him. As he drives out into the street, a delivery truck slams right into his car. Patricia stands frozen, horrified over what happened.

Later, at the hospital, the other couples resolve their differences due to Patricia's insistance that their relationships don't end up in turmoil like her and Gavin's relationship.

Sadly, Gavin dies. The couples, along with Mike and Patricia hold a memorial for him in the Bahamas.

Answer: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Patricia is introduced to Daniel Franklin (who read Patricia's books in order to help him get through a messy divorce) by one of her colleagues.

Daniel Franklin is played by Dwayne Douglas Johnson, who is best known for his tenure in the WWE as the pie-eating, jabroni-beating, trail-blazing, eyebrow raising, man of excitement, man of action, getting it on with the one, and only Janet Jackson, People's Champ: The Rock, and for his roles in movies such as "The Scorpion King", "Be Cool" "The Rundown", "Get Smart", "Walking Tall", and "The Game Plan" (which ironically came out in theaters around the same time as the first "Why Did I Get Married?" movie).

Answer: "You know what I'm saying?"

Angela points this out while she's talking to the ladies, and Terry points this out as Mike asks if Sheila ever talks about him when the guys are out on a boat fishing.

Answer: Mike

Sheila asks Mike to ask one of his golfing buddies (who just happens to be the chief of police) to get Troy a job as a cop. Sheila asks Mike not to say anything to Troy about it, but Troy finds out in a conversation with a fellow police officer.

This scene is very similar to a scene in the movie "Soul Food", when Bird goes to her ex-boyfriend Simuel to hook her husband, Lem, up with a job.

Answer: Sheila is nursing Mike

Sheila questions Mike about his motives in helping Troy get a job, thinking that he only wants to win her back. However, Mike ends up revealing the truth behind his actions: he has cancer, and he needs Sheila's help. Troy attacks Mike at his condo, but later apologizes to Mike for his actions.
