This was a good movie. Antonio Banderas is also known for "Zorro", "Spy Kids" and the voice of Puss In Boots in "Shrek 2" and "Shrek 3", of course. In the beginning of the movie, we saw him getting ready for a dance exhibition, featuring the students from his school.

Answer: Her mother's friend tried to rape her.

The "friend" came to the door, saying that her mother told him to wait for her at the house. LaRhette let him in, and he asked her where she slept, and she told him on the couch, saying that her siblings shared the other bedroom. He then asked her if she wanted to make some money, saying, "You're your mother's daughter, ain't you?" LaRhette then promptly kicked him out, but before she could shut the door, he burst back in and grabbed her, saying that he offered to pay her, and he should just take it from her.

Her mother came home at that exact moment, and she ran out to the school. She put on the radio in the basement where detention occured. She went into her "moment", and tried to dance off her frustration. Unfortunately, Rock was also at the school, and he found her dancing, which led to an argument. So much for peace and quiet!

The character was Jason Rockwell, a.k.a. Rock, who came from a troubled home. His older brother was killed a couple of years earlier. He was wrecking the principal's car because she wouldn't let him in the school dance with his attitude. He thought she was basically out to get him.

The role of Sasha was played by Jenna Dewan, from "Step Up". Sasha was a very vibrant girl who loved to dance, and she was very pretty. She liked Danjou more than Ramos. The two spent so much time fighting over her that Pierre made both of them her partners and, in his exact words, "You sweat through it. You work it out!" They had to decide amongst each other who danced what with Sasha.

It was a funny part in the movie, to me, when he was explaining his heritage. His mother was Spanish and his father was French. He ended up explaining his heritage because when he introduced himself, Ramos said that he didn't sound French, because his name was obviously French.

They were extremely opposed to working together. Both of their brothers died, and they blamed each others' brother for it. LaRhette blamed Rock's brother for killing her twin brother, and vice versa.

The part of the principal was played by Alfre Woodard. She's been in many other movies, and she is a phenomenal actress. She's been in "Love and Basketball", "Beauty Shop" and "Something New". Augustine was a very tough principal, and at first she thought that Pierre wouldn't be able to handle the kids.

When she saw them later at the dance competition, she was amazed, to say the least. She was the one who suggested that they make Pierre's method a permanent class.

This movie was based on the life of ballroom dancer Pierre DuLaine and how his unorthodox detentions became an actual class in schools everywhere. The actual Pierre DuLaine was on the set of the movie, in a behind the scenes special. He talked about how the class became a success in schools all over the country.

Answer: No talent losers.

Morgan said this at the dance school, to the other students, and Caitlin overheard. She had been asked by Pierre to come to the detention to show the kids a tango, and dance it with him. When the dance finished, everyone loved it, and Sasha went up to Morgan and said, "I've never seen anyone move like that." Morgan looked down her nose at her and answered, "I'm sure."

Answer: Danjou, Ramos and Sasha

Sasha was scared to compete aganist Morgan, claiming she didn't know what else to bring. Danjou said to bring to the floor what they had, and he and Ramos planned a group dance that incorporated the three of them. They couldn't score at the end, though, because it was a couple's competition. Morgan proclaimed it a tie, and she kept the flowers and gave them the trophy.
