Hitting with "Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress)" & Peaceful (#55 and #112 for the year) this would be Helen Reddy's Biggest Year. 'Delta Dawn' was #20 for 1973. It was also a huge hit in the US for Tanya Tucker.
2. Who's "Ramblin' Man" made it to #2 on the charts in Autumn '73?

Answer: The Allman Bros.

This band's biggest chart hit was #47 for the year. Seger did "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" a few years earlier.
3. Whose big problem was "Little Willy"?

Answer: The Sweet

This #3 hit was #28 for the whole year. MJ of course had the theme from "Free Willy" 20 some years later.. "Will You Be There?"
4. Who was winning the "Space Race" in 1973?

Answer: Billy Preston

"Space Race #42 for the year was only Preston's 2nd biggest hit that year. "Will It Go Round in Circles?" was a #1 and #18 for the year. Billy Preston was the 10th biggest act overall for the year. The Carpenters were 3rd, Jim Croce was 2nd and the biggest act of 1973 was... Gladys Knight & the Pips!

Rundgren's biggest hit ever was #71 for the year. He'd later form the band Utopia and have a small success with "Set Me Free" in 1980. His other notable solos were "Man We Gotta Get You a Woman", "Can We Still Be Friends?" and "I Saw the Light"

Second biggest hit by EWG next to "Frankenstein" (#21 for the same year) "Free Ride was #121 for the year, but of course a staple on classic rock stations for years. BTO did "Let It Ride" in 1974 (it didn't quite make the top 20) Ratt did a track called "Nobody Rides for Free".

#128 for the year, Lou Reed is one of the most signifcant influences in alternative music. Stafford had a huge hit this year w/"Spiders & Snakes" went to #3 and was #30 for the year.

This One hit wonder hit #104 for the year. Chicago's #4 hit "Just You & Me" was #33 for the Year. Boston wouldn't 'land' for another 3 years.. and John Denver would wait one more year to hit #1 with "Sunshine on your Shoulder".

This One Hit Wonder was #141 for the year.. yes, I made up the 'Far-Outs' not the other two.. New Birth who hit w/'I Can Understand It' (made it to #35) and First Choice w/'Armed and Extremely Dangerous' (got to #28).

Answer: Ike & Tina Turner

#159 for the year.. this would be it till Tina launched her big solo career in the mid 80's

Far better known for "Nice to Be with You" from '72 (which was #43 for that year) Miss Ruth Ann was #145 for 1973. the Hollies had the Hit 'Carrie Ann' in the 60's.

This novelty hit was actually the only #24 hit of the year; #164 for the year. Derringer would work with "Weird" Al for a while. Larry Gross hit w/'Junk Food Junkie' and Dees, of course had 'Disco Duck' both in 1976.
