Answer: Turn, Turn, Turn

"Turn, Turn, Turn" took lyrics from "The Book of Ecclesiastes", and paired them with a haunting melody from Pete Seeger.

Answer: You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'

The expression 'blue-eyed soul' could have been invented to describe The Righteous Brothers. They started recording in 1963, but didn't have any big hits until they hooked up with producer Phil Spector, and his infamous 'wall of sound'. "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'", co-written by Spector, Barry Mann and Cynthia Well, was their first number one hit.
7. What was #4 on the 1965 countdown? "When I woke up this morning, You were on my mind, And you were on my mind. I got troubles, whoa-oh, I got worries, whoa-oh, I got wounds to bind."

Answer: You Were On My Mind

It's difficult to find anything about the group We Five, other than the fact they had a hit with this song, written by Sylvia Fricker of Ian and Sylvia.
8. What was #3 on the countdown for 1965? "Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quatro Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw. Had two big horns and a wooly jaw."

Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs hailed from Dallas, Texas, where their sound has been described as 'Tex-Mex'. This was their first big hit, which was followed by only one other, "Little Red Riding Hood".
9. What was #2 on the 1965 countdown? "Sugarpie, honeybunch, You know that I love you. I can't help myself, I love you and nobody else."

Answer: I Can't Help Myself

The Four Tops have been one of the foundations upon which Motown has been built. They started singing together at a birthday party in 1954, and were such a hit they were inspired to make a career out of it. It wasn't until they were signed by Motown, almost 10 years later, that they had any real success. "I Can't Help Myself" was their first number one hit.
10. What was #1 on the countdown for 1965? "I can't get no __________. I can't get no __________. 'Cause I try, and I try, and I try, and I try. I can't get no, I can't get no. When I'm drivin' in my car, And that man comes on the radio, He's tellin' me more and more, About some useless information, Supposed to fire my imagination."

Answer: Satisfaction

Keith Richards claimed that he wrote "Satisfaction" in his sleep and he and Jagger never really wanted to see it released. Out-voted by the rest of the group, "Satisfaction" was released and became a huge hit on both sides of the Atlantic. The Rolling Stones were in full stride at this time, releasing four separate albums (remember that word?) in 1965.
