The song peaked at number four on the US Modern Rock Charts and number nineteen on the UK Singles Chart. The song was on their sophomore album, 'Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge'. Their first album, 'I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love', contained three singles; although it didn't break them into the North American mainstream, it gave them a fairly big underground fan base.

2. This band's big breakthrough record was called 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik'.

The band was formed in Los Angeles, California. If you only like the Red Hot Chili Peppers a little bit you should still know that though. About half of their singles talk about the 'City of Angels' and California. Also, did you know, guitarist John Frusciante left the band after 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' and almost died several times from heroin use and from an accidental house fire before he rejoined the band?

3. This old but very successful band never went mainstream, but was still one of the biggest rock bands ever. Their first two singles off of their self titled first album are 'Communication Breakdown' and 'Good Times Bad Times.'

Zeppelin didn't believe in singles. They thought that you can't just buy a song - you had to buy the record, because their records fit together and the songs all fit a mood. (That's why the song 'Houses of the Holy' wasn't on the album 'Houses of the Holy'. They felt the song didn't fit the mood of the album.)

4. What band achieved their first commercial success with the release of the album 'Dookie'?

Green Day are second only to the Red Hot Chili Peppers for the most number one hits on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks, with eight number ones. 'Dookie' was placed as number 193 on 'Rolling Stone's' 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The follow up album, 'Insomniac', sold two million copies in the US, but never reached the success of 'Dookie'. ('Dookie' was Green Day's third album).

5. This band had two self titled albums. The first was nicknamed 'the Blue album' and the second was nicknamed 'the Green album'. The first thing that catapulted this band into the North American spotlight was the music video for the song 'Buddy Holly'.

Weezer is from Los Angeles, California. 'Buddy Holly', their second single, reached number two on the US Modern Rock Chart, although their first song, 'Undone (the Sweater Song)' reached number six. 'Buddy Holly' was released in 1995. Weezer didn't make a number one hit until 2005 on their album 'Make Believe', where they made two. 'Beverly Hills' for one week, and 'Perfect Situation' for four weeks.

6. Their 1991 album 'Nevermind' had a huge single that is still popular today, even though the lead singer committed suicide and the drummer has a new, also successful band.

7. This band went mainstream with their second cd, 'All Killer No Filler' in 2001.

In May of 2004, Sum 41 travelled to Congo with a Canadian charity organization, "War Child". Days after they got there, fighting broke out near where they were staying. A U.N peacekeeper, Chuck Pelletier called for armoured carriers to take the band and forty other civilians to safety. Sum 41 named their next album 'Chuck' in honour of the man that saved their lives.

8. This band's first hit came with their song "Yellow".

'Yellow' was the second single off of Coldplay's debut album, 'Parachutes'. The first single was 'Shiver'. Both songs were released in 2000.
