Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which song is a Led Zeppelin song?

Answer: Fool in the Rain

"Fool in the Rain" is from Led Zeppelin's 1979 album, "In Through the Out Door". In 1980 it reached number 21 and was the final Led Zeppelin song to make the pop singles charts. "Fool in the Rain" was never performed live at Led Zeppelin concerts because the piano was important to the song, but with John Paul Jones on piano there could be no bass. On October 5, 2005, Robert Plant performed the song with Pearl Jam at a Hurricane Katrina benefit show. "Ship of Fools" was co-written by Plant with keyboardist Phil Johnstone of The 45s. Phil plays keys on the track.

The song appears on Plant's 1988 solo album "Now and Zen". "Won't Get Fooled Again" is a Who classic. "Fool to Cry" is from Rolling Stones' 1976 album "Black and Blue". It was the lead single from the album and reached number ten in the US.
2. Who sang the 1960 hit "Fool In Love"?

Answer: Tina Turner

When she was 18, Tina Turner was part of a soul revue led by Ike Turner and his Kings of Rhythm. When a male singer scheduled to record "Fool In Love" didn't appear, Tina recorded the vocals. "Fool In Love" became a hit and cracked the top 30. Ike married Tina and he changed the name of his band to The Ike & Tina Turner Revue.

The first time Tina Turner performed this song on television was on a 1960 episode of "American Bandstand" while she was nine months pregnant with Ike's child. Tina also performed the song during her final concert tour in 2000. Brenda Lee had a 1960 hit with "Sweet Nothings". "At Last" reached number two for Etta James in 1961.

In 1965 Koko Taylor had a hit single on Chess Records called "Wang Dang Doodle". It reached number four on the R&B charts and sold a million copies.
3. Which song was NOT recorded by Ricky Nelson?

Answer: (Now and Then There's) A Fool Such as I

"(Now and Then There's) A Fool Such as I" was written by Bill Trader and originally performed by Hank Snow in 1952. Elvis Presley had a number two hit with the song in 1959. In 1958 "Poor Little Fool" became Ricky Nelson's first number one hit. "Poor Little Fool" was written by Sharon Sheeley and has the distinction of being the first song to hit number one on Billboard magazine's newly-created Hot 100 chart, which replaced the magazine's Top 100.

He followed up with "Fools Rush In" in 1963, taking it to number 12. "I'm A Fool" was released by Nelson in 1964 on the "Spotlight on Rick" album. Ricky also did the song "I'm A Fool to Care" on his country album, "Bright Lights and Country Music".

Answer: TheTams

The Tams formed in 1960. Original member Charles Pope is still performing with the band. He formed the band with his late brother, Joe Pope. They took their name from the Tam o'shanter style of hat that the group wears on stage. In 1962 they had a hit single called "Untie Me".

After recording some songs that failed to make an impression, they broke out with the Goffin-King composition "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" in 1960. The song went all the way to number one. The Shirelles became them the first all-female group of the rock era to accomplish that feat. The Dixie Cups are known for "Chapel of Love".
