This is one of my favourite songs. It is a really great song that was a huge success all over the world. The song was written by Eric Clapton and Lim Gordon and was also a track on the album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs". Derek and the Dominos was a short lived project that only lasted for over a year.
In that short period of time the released the album and had a tour to promote the album. The band performed, among other venues, at the Fillmore East from which two live albums were released "In Concert" in 1973 and "Live at the Fillmore" in 1974.
The song's chorus is "Layla, you've got me on my knees. / Layla, I'm begging, darling please. / Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind."
3. Mandy (1974)

The song was originally recorded by Scott English in 1971 as "Brandy" to the music of Richard Kerr. Manilow changed the name to "Mandy" and had his first chart success with it. Manilow was born Barry Alan Pincus in 1943 and has had a lot of success as singer and songwriter.
Some other well know songs by Manilow are "Copacabana", "I Write the Songs", "Can't Smile Without You" and "Looks Like We Made It". Heavily influenced by his song "Maybellene" Chuck Berry released it shortly after serving an 18 month prison sentence. Chuck Berry is a rock legend and was inducted in the Rock Hall of Fame in 1986 by Keith Richards. Some of his well known and loved songs are "Roll Over Beethoven", "Johnny B. Goode", "Sweet Little Sixteen" and "Rock and Roll Music" to mention but a few.

One Direction is an English-Irish boy band that came into prominence after competing in the "X Factor (UK)" in 2010. One Direction (or 1 D) are Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles. "Olivia" was written by Harry Styles with the help of Julian Bunetta and John Ryan.

10. Veronica (1989)

The song was written by Elvis Costello and Paul McCartney and tells the story of an old lady suffering from dementia. It is a track on the 1989 album "Spike" and was also released as a single. It made the number one spot in Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks. Elvis Costello was born Declan Patrick McManus in London, England.
