The song appears on the band's eponymous album. Flying colors are Casey McPherson, Neal Morse, Steve Morse, Dave LaRue and Mike Portnoy. Kayla is a powerful ballad with beautiful harmonies. The chorus is "All the dark will disappear / Kayla, Kayla / Silent dreams will fill the air / Kayla, Kayla".

Answer: Derek and the Dominos

This is one of my favourite songs. It is a really great song that was a huge success all over the world. The song was written by Eric Clapton and Lim Gordon and was also a track on the album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs". Derek and the Dominos was a short lived project that only lasted for over a year.

In that short period of time the released the album and had a tour to promote the album. The band performed, among other venues, at the Fillmore East from which two live albums were released "In Concert" in 1973 and "Live at the Fillmore" in 1974.

The song's chorus is "Layla, you've got me on my knees. / Layla, I'm begging, darling please. / Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind."

Answer: Barry Manilow

The song was originally recorded by Scott English in 1971 as "Brandy" to the music of Richard Kerr. Manilow changed the name to "Mandy" and had his first chart success with it. Manilow was born Barry Alan Pincus in 1943 and has had a lot of success as singer and songwriter.

Some other well know songs by Manilow are "Copacabana", "I Write the Songs", "Can't Smile Without You" and "Looks Like We Made It". Answer: Chuck Berry

Heavily influenced by his song "Maybellene" Chuck Berry released it shortly after serving an 18 month prison sentence. Chuck Berry is a rock legend and was inducted in the Rock Hall of Fame in 1986 by Keith Richards. Some of his well known and loved songs are "Roll Over Beethoven", "Johnny B. Goode", "Sweet Little Sixteen" and "Rock and Roll Music" to mention but a few.

The opening lyrics of the song are "I got on a city bus and found a vacant seat, / I thought I saw my future bride walking up the street, / I shouted to the driver hey conductor, you must slow down / I think I see her please let me off this bus ".

Answer: One Direction

One Direction is an English-Irish boy band that came into prominence after competing in the "X Factor (UK)" in 2010. One Direction (or 1 D) are Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles. "Olivia" was written by Harry Styles with the help of Julian Bunetta and John Ryan.

The chorus of the song is "I live for you, I long for you, Olivia / I've been idolizing the light in your eyes, Olivia / I live for you, I long for you, Olivia / Don't let me go / Don't let me go".

Answer: Nirvana

The song was written in 1989 and tells the true story of a girl that was abducted, tortured and raped. The song was first recorded in a live concert in the same year and is a track on the live album "From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah" that was released in 1996.

The song is also a track on the 1991 album "Nevermind". The opening lyrics are "Polly wants a cracker / I think I should get off her first / I think she wants some water / To put out the blow torch".

Answer: The Police

The song is a track on the 1978 album "Outlandos d'Amour" and was also released as a single without much success at the beginning. The song received extended play time about a year later and based on that it started selling well. It is a favourite song of the band and it is almost always played in live concerts.

The song is about a man falling n love with a prostitute as can be seen from the opening lyrics of the song "Roxanne you don't have to put on the red light / Those days are over you don't have to sell your body to the night / Roxanne you don't have to wear that dress tonight / Walk the streets for money you don't care if it's wrong or if it's right".

Answer: Hole

The song is a track on the album "Nobody's Daughter". It was written by Courtney Love, Bill Corgan and Linda Perry and was originally earmarked to be released as the first single from the album. Despite the fact that it was not released as a single a video of the song was issued in 2011.

The opening lyrics are "Samantha, you swore / You never turned that trick before / Keep waiting for a war / You'll never win / You'll lose again ".

Answer: The Cuff Links

The Cuff Links were a studio group in the mould of the Archies. The man behind the song was Ron Dante who recorded the vocals several times and they were mixed together to give the impression that the song was sung by many people. The song was written by Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance who were also the masterminds behind the creation of The Cuff Links.

The song was a great success although it did not top the charts. The opening lyrics of the song are "Tracy, when I'm with you / Somethin' you do bounces me off the ceiling / Tracy, day after day / When you're this way, I get a lovin' feelin'".

Answer: Elvis Costello

The song was written by Elvis Costello and Paul McCartney and tells the story of an old lady suffering from dementia. It is a track on the 1989 album "Spike" and was also released as a single. It made the number one spot in Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks. Elvis Costello was born Declan Patrick McManus in London, England.

Other successful songs by Costello are "Man Out of Time", "I Want You" and "Alison". The opening lyrics of the song are "Is it all in that pretty little head of yours? / What goes on in that place in the dark? / Well I used to know a girl and I could have sworn / That her name was Veronica".
