"When Love & Hate Collide" was originally written for Def Leppard's album, 'Adrenalize' in 1992, but wasn't complete until 1995 when it was included on the greatest hits album, 'Vault'. Answer: Bash me, Smash me; You can never slash me

Michael Jackson was accused of antisemitism by the New York Times after the release of this song which contains the lyrics: "Jew me, sue me, everybody do me; Kick me, kike me, don't you black or white me".

Although intending to write a song highlighting the problem of racism and prejudice, it was felt that Michael's choice of words made the message too subtle for a young audience. Michael issued a statement saying how upset he was that he had been accused of antisemitism and apologised to anyone who had been offended by his choice of words.

Answer: Ugly Kid Joe

Ugly Kid Joe are a Californian band formed in 1989 who named themselves as a spoof of the band Pretty Boy Floyd. Both "Everything About You" and "Cats in the Cradle" are featured on their album, "America's Least Wanted".

The cover of this album originally featured a drawing of the band's mascot as the Statue of Liberty but with the middle finger of his right hand extended. Some record shops refused to sell the album with this cover, and an alternative cover picture was drawn featuring the band's mascot gagged and restrained by ropes and chains, with his right hand covered in sticky tape.
