Graham Nash co-wrote "Stop Stop Stop" with fellow Hollies members Allan Clarke and Tony Hicks. The song was a single release before it was included on their fifth album, "For Certain Because" (1966). "Stop Stop Stop" was the only song by The Hollies to feature Tony Hicks playing banjo. The song was a hit in several countries and reached Number Seven in the US.
Graham Nash left The Hollies in late 1968 and headed for California where he teamed up with David Crosby and Stephen Stills. Terry Sylvester of The Swinging Blue Jeans replaced Nash.
"Shapes of Things" was a 1966 US Top Ten by The Yardbirds. "Dandy" and "Listen People" were two of several 1966 Top Forty hits by Herman's Hermits.

"Soldier Boy" was the second and final Number One hit for the Shirelles. "Stop the Music" was released the same year and made it to Number 36. Shirley Owens was a founding member of the Passaic, New Jersey, group that also included Doris Coley, Addie "Micki" Harris and Beverly Lee.

They formed in 1957 for a talent show and were signed by Scepter Records. In 1958 they first hit the US charts with "I Met Him On a Sunday (Ronde-Ronde)". Two years later the group topped the charts with "Will You Love Me Tomorrow". "One Fine Day" was a 1963 hit from The Chiffons. "He's a Rebel" was a 1962 Number One single by The Crystals.

In 1961 "Please Mr. Postman" by The Marvelettes topped the US charts.

Dale Houston and Grace Broussard teamed up for two US Top ten hits. They topped the charts in 1963 with "I'm Leaving It Up to You" and followed up with the Number Eight "Stop and Think It Over" the following year. Houston was performing in a club in Ferriday, Louisiana, when an executive from a record label approached him to consider forming a duet with a female.

He paired up with Grace and they began practicing and searching for material. When they sang a song released in 1957 by Don and Dewey called "I'm Leaving it Up to You"- it was released locally by Michelle Records and became a regional hit.

When it was distributed by the Jaime label it charted nationally. The pair toured with Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars and followed with "Stop and Think it Over". Paul and Paula also enjoyed Number One success in 1963 with "Hey Paula". Brother and sister Nino Tempo and April Stevens topped the charts with "Deep Purple" (1963).

In 1962 Dick and Dee Dee reached Number Two with "The Mountain's High".

Tom Petty and Mike Campbell wrote "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" for release by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. It was originally recorded for their "Hard Promises" LP. It was then arranged for Nicks to team up with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and the song became the first single release from Nicks' "Bella Donna" album.

The release went to Number Three in the US charts. Stevie Nicks asked Petty to produce the "Bella Donna" album but he declined the offer. Ray Parker Jr. and Raydio charted "A Woman Needs Love" in 1981. Franke and The Knockouts charted with "Sweetheart". "Fire Lake" was a 1980 single by Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band.

David Lee Roth became the front man for Van Halen in the seventies after the band rented a sound system from him. The group catapulted to fame in the seventies with several hits with Roth singing lead. Roth left the band in 1985. Patty Smyth from the band Scandal was offered the position of lead vocalist but turned the offer down. Sammy Hagar was enjoying a successful solo career but accepted the offer to join Van Halen. The first album featuring Hagar was the successful "5150". Hagar left the band in 1996 and after a brief reunion with David Lee Roth Gary Cherone from Extreme became the band's vocalist.
In 2006 Van Halen's bass player Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar toured as "The Other Half" with Michael Anthony doing occasional vocals.

Quiet Riot released "Cum On Feel The Noize" in 1984. "Round And Round" was a successful 1984 released from Ratt. "Caught Up In You" by 38 Special hit the charts in 1982.

Most of the songs were written by Motown's songwriting team of Brian and Edward Holland, Jr along with Lamont Dozier. In 1990 the songwriting team was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1968 the Holland-Dozier-Holland team left Motown and two years later Diana Ross embarked on a solo career while The Supremes continued to tour and record with several personnel changes until they performed their final concert in 1977.

He also played guitar on many of the sessions for artists on Sinatra's Reprise label. He left to join Columbia Records in 1970 and took his catalog of songs with him. In addition to charting successful singles Davis also hosted his own television variety show and was cast in several movies. Cat Stevens had a Number Six single with his cover of Sam Cooke's "Another Saturday Night" in 1974. "Be Thankful for What You Got" was a 1974 Top Ten by William DeVaughn and Billy Swan topped the charts with "I Can Help".
