Answer: Unsung

My favourite metal song was written by alternative metal outfit Helmet. "Unsung" is widely regarded as Helmet's most well known song, known for its catchy rhythm and relentless riffing. It has been featured in multiple video games including "Guitar Hero" and "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas".
2. Band: Alice In Chains Year of Release: 1990 Album: "Facelift" Lyrics: "Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?, Jesus Christ, deny your maker. He who tries, will be wasted. Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut". What is the name of the song?

Answer: Man in the Box

Another fantastic metal song is "Man In The Box", which comes from Alice In Chains' album "Facelift", released in 1990. Guitarist Jerry Cantrell stated that "That whole beat and grind of that is when we started to find ourselves; it helped Alice become what it was." The song is about censorship in the media.
3. Band: Korn Year of Release: 2002 Album: "Untouchables" Lyrics: "This time, taking it away, I've got a problem, with me getting in the way, Not by design, So I take my face and bash it into a mirror. I won't have to see the pain" What is the name of one of my favourite metal songs?

Answer: Here to Stay

"Here To Stay" was the first single taken from their 2002 album "Untouchables". The video featured footage of the band playing interspersed with clips of world events at the time.
4. Band: Slayer Year of Release: 1986 Album: "Reign In Blood" Lyrics: "Trapped in purgatory. A lifeless object, alive. Awaiting reprisal. Death will be their acquisition" The clues should direct you to which Slayer song?

Answer: Raining Blood

Released in 1986, "Raining Blood" is still to this day one of Slayer's most recognisable song. Like "Unsung" it was also featured in the games in the "Grand Theft Auto" and "Guitar Hero" franchises, in the games "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" and "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock".
5. Band: Sepultura Year of Release: 1996 Album: "Roots" Lyrics: "I pray, we don't need to change, Our ways to be saved, That all we wanna be, Watch us freak" What is the name of this song?

Answer: Roots Bloody Roots

It is another popular song, widely regarded as Sepultura's most well-known. The music video was filmed in the catacombs of Sao Paulo and features imagery of Brazil and its culture, the country of the band's origin.
6. Band: Extreme Year of Release: 1989 Album: "Extreme" Lyrics: "Ring around the rosie, Hopscotch, Monopoly, Red light, green light, G. I. Joes and Barbies, Hide and seek, kick the can, Cowboys and Indians, Wiffle ball, paper dolls, Hacky sack and hangman". What is the name of this song from these clues?

Answer: Play With Me

"Play With Me" is a metal song by American metal band Extreme, taken from their self-titled debut album released in 1989. This is one of my favourite metal songs and I cite it as one of my guilty pleasures, though I do confess to not have heard of it until its inclusion in the video game "Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s".

The song features a fast, complex guitar solo and various riffs have obvious classical influences.
7. Band: Megadeth Year of Release: 1990 Album: "Rust In Peace" Lyrics: "Welcome to our fortress tall, Take some time to show you around, Impossible to break these walls, For you see the steel is much too strong". This is another fantastic metal song, but what is its name?

Answer: Hangar 18

My second favourite metal song is "Hangar 18", released in 1990 by American thrash metal giants Megadeth. It is written about military intelligence. As with so many other songs on this list, it was featured in a 'Guitar Hero' game, this one being 'Guitar Hero 2'.
8. Band: Pantera Year of Release: 1990 Album: "Cowboys From Hell" Lyrics: "Under the lights where we stand tall, nobody touches us at all". What is the name of this song, using the clues above?

Answer: Cowboys From Hell

'Cowboys From Hell' comes from the Pantera album of the same name, released in 1990. Pantera had released four albums before this one, but changed their sound for this album and future releases from glam metal to thrash/groove metal. It worked well for them as the album would receive critical acclaim. The song was also featured on 'Guitar Hero'.
9. Band: Judas Priest Year of Release: 1990 Album: "Painkiller" Lyrics: "Faster than a bullet, terrifying scream, enraged and full of anger, he's half man and half machine". What is the name of this song?

Answer: Painkiller

The song was released on the Judas Priest album of the same name, released in 1990. The song is known for its powerful solos, high pitched screams and complex drumming. It was featured on the video game "Rock Band 2" and "Guitar Hero: Van Halen".
10. Band: Tremonti Year of Release: 2012 Album: "All I Was" Lyrics: "You've never dealt with this before, You unchained your grip, you know you did, and we will not take no more, An empty hand is your sacrifice, It's your upper hand for the last time". An obscure one I know, but one of my favourite metal songs nonetheless. Can you name it from the clues given?

Answer: Wish You Well

The song comes from the debut solo album from Mark Tremonti, the lead guitarist for both Alter Bridge and Creed. The album received critical acclaim upon release.
