The actual first performer was some unknown guy with a guitar and harmonica who travelled up to Philly, hung out where the performers were staying and somehow managed to persuade organizers to let him perform (a couple of very forgettable songs). The Hooters were on next.

Answer: Ripley's

Yes Ripley's (believe it or not) ... and the hippest street? South Street of course!

Answer: Buzz Barkley

He was a regular on WMMR radio, usually with Pierre Robert.
