"Kling Klang Studio" has been the personal recording playpen for the highly influential band since the early 70's. Originally located in Dusseldorf, in 2009 the studio was moved to Meerbusch-Osterath, a small town 10 kilometers west of Dusseldorf.
4. Jimi Hendrix bought a defunct club and had it turned into a recording studio. What is the name of this legendary place that still makes hit music?

Answer: Motown

Located on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit, Motown's early headquarters literally operated around the clock, closing only briefly each morning for maintenance. Having outgrown the company many years ago, the former photographer's studio exists today as a museum honoring the legacy of the great music produced there.
6. Where is "Windmill Lane Studios" located?

Answer: Dublin

7. Did Paul McCartney ever record in Africa?

Answer: Yes

"Band On The Run", considered one of the best albums of his career, and that of his band Wings, was recorded in Lagos, Nigeria. Paul was looking for an exotic locale and after asking EMI for a listing of all their international studios, chose Lagos. Having just lost band members Henry McCullough and Denny Seiwell, only Paul, Linda and Denny Laine made the trip, along with long-time Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick.
8. These four musicians, Barry Beckett, Roger Hawkins, Jimmy Johnson and David Hood, who had been playing together for a number of years, opened their own recording studio in 1969. What was its name?

Answer: Muscle Shoals Sound Studio

Known as "The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section", they opened their studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Before opening the Muscle Shoals studio, they recorded in different studios across The United States. 9. What Boston-based band recorded at the "Syncro Sound" studio?

Answer: The Cars

Back in the early 80's, The Cars bought Intermedia Studios, renaming it Syncro Sound, but only their fourth release, "Shake It Up", was recorded there. Incidentally, Aerosmith did record there, laying "Dream On" down on tape years before when it was Intermedia Studios.
10. What legendary studio started off as "Memphis Recording Service"?

Answer: Sun Studio

Sun Studio, which also comprised Sun Records, was started by radio station engineer Sam Phillips. The studio is most known for discovering and nurturing a young Elvis Presley. Today the original structure exists as a museum.

Answer: Eddie Van Halen

Eddie had his home studio built in 1983 and every Van Halen release since "1984" has been recorded there.
12. Who was the in-house session keyboardist at London's Trident Studios in the late 60's/early 70's?

Answer: Rick Wakeman

Trident Studios was launched in 1967 and quickly attained a reputation - even some of The Beatles "White Album" tracks were recorded there. As a session musician, Rick Wakeman is noted for having played on David Bowie's "Space Oddity", "Life On Mars", and "Changes".
13. Which guitarist/songwriter recorded his first solo release, "Who Came First", at his home studio in Twickenham, Britain?

Answer: Pete Townshend

Pete had been dabbling with home recording since the earliest days of The Who, rendering the songs he wrote into demos to be played later for the band. Examples of these can be found on his solo releases "Scoop", "Another Scoop" and "Scoop 3", which are mostly collections of his home studio recordings.
14. Where is "Hansa TonStudio" located?

Answer: Berlin

Started in 1964 by Thomas and Peter Meisel, it was originally located adjacent to The Berlin Wall, hence its English nicknames of "The Great Hall By The Wall" or just "Hansa By The Wall". Major acts such as David Bowie, U2, and Depeche Mode have recorded there.
15. Mick Fleetwood first encountered Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham in a recording studio.

Answer: True

Right before Bob Welch left Fleetwood Mac, Mick Fleetwood was checking out recording studios to work on their next release. At Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, CA, he was played a track from an LP recorded there called "Frozen Love" by Buckingham Nicks, a duo who happened to be there that day in an adjacent studio laying down tracks. Mick was briefly introduced to the guitarist. Later on, when Mick asked producer/engineer Keith Olsen if the guitarist (Lindsey) would be interested in joining the band and was told that he and Stevie were a unit, he didn't hesitate in saying "I'll take them both".

The rest is history.
