Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which song can these gorgeous lyrics be found in? "lonely as a whisper on a star chase"

Answer: Long Away

This is one of my favourite lyrics of all time from the beautifully written song "Long Away", penned and performed by Brian May. It can be found on the album "A Day At The Races" released in 1976.
2. Where can you find these lyrics? "where the beams of your love light chase"

Answer: Now I'm Here

Brian wrote this awesome song while in hospital with hepatitis! He was behind in recording and thought that he should make up for it by writing a song and that is what he did! It is on the album "Sheer Heart Attack" which was released in 1974 and its single B-Side was "Lily of the Valley".
Def Leppard performed this song at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in 1992.
3. In which emotion-packed song can this reference to Icarus be found? "they fly too close to the sun"

Answer: No One But You (only the good die young)

This beautiful song has me in pieces every time I hear it. It can be found on the album "Queen Rocks" and was written by the remaining members of Queen for Freddie after he died. The album was released in 1997.
4. What powerful song do we find the lyrics: "show yourself, destroy our fears, release your mask"

Answer: Innuendo

All four of the band members wrote this masterpiece together proving that not only are they individually talented song writers, but they can work brilliantly as a team and still produce a stunning work. It can be found on the album of the same name released in 1991. This was the last album Freddie ever saw released.
5. In which vicious song do we hear Freddie accusing someone of being a "sewer rat decaying in a cesspool of pride"?

Answer: Death On Two Legs

Most people suspect that this song was dedicated to their old managers as it was written just after they had ended their contract and had the words "dedicated to..." in brackets after the title. It can be found on "A Night at the Opera" which was released in 1975.
6. Which enchanting song can the line, "Mab is the queen and there's a good apothecary-man come to say hello" be found in?

Answer: Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke

This glorious song was written by Freddie and inspired by the painting of the same name which can be seen in the Tate gallery. This song is on the album "Queen II" released in 1974.
7. In which song can these lyrics be found? "Don't have to listen to no run of the mill talk jive"

Answer: I'm In Love With My Car

This song (written and sung by Roger Taylor) was the B-Side to "Bohemian Rhapsody"! Roger was keen on the idea but Freddie wasn't and it has been said that he thought the lyrics to this song were a tad ridiculous! I happen to disagree and as it was, the song made its way onto the single, album and many following tours!
8. In which fantastical song would find the lyrics: "Dragons fly like sparrows thru' the air"?

Answer: My Fairy King

Another masterpiece written by Freddie. It can be found on their debut album "Queen" along with other beautiful songs such as "The Night Comes Down" and the instrumental version of "Seven Seas of Rhye".
9. In which song can the words, "Or destroy me with a barely perceptible whisper" be found?

Answer: Dreamer's Ball

This delightful little song was written by Brian May and can be found on the 1977 album "Jazz".
10. And finally, in which song can you find the lyrics: "And ice cold hearts of charity bare"

Answer: The Prophet's Song

May wrote this eight minute masterpiece based on dream he had and in doing so, created one of the most incredible compositions ever heard. It may not be some people's cup of tea but there is no denying it is an awesome feat. It is the longest song Queen wrote (Discarding "Bonus Track 1" on "Made in Heaven") and can be found on "A Night At The Opera".
