Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Little Red Corvette"

Answer: Prince

This track from the album "1999" in 1983 became the first top ten Billboard hit for Prince and his second top ten in UK after the album's title track went to number two.
2. "Red Solo Cup"

Answer: Toby Keith

Released in 2011 and referred to by Keith himself as "the stupidest song that I have ever heard in my life,"( although he also admits to loving the track), "Red Solo Cup" broke the top 20 in USA and top 30 in Canada. Party Cups as they are actually called by the Solo company are also available in dark blue, light blue and green in the 18oz size.
3. "The Lady In Red"

Answer: Chris De Burgh

By far De Burgh's biggest hit, this track reached top ten almost everywhere in the world in 1986, apart from France where it stalled at number 67. Did the French know something the rest of us didn't? In 2001 it was voted the fourth most hated UK number one.
4. "You're More Than A Number In My Little Red Book"

Answer: The Drifters

The second single released from the group's 1976 album, "Every Nite's a Saturday Night", after the title track, this song climbed to number five in UK charts, the last time they would break the top ten there.
5. "99 Red Balloons"

Answer: Nena

This song was originally released in 1983 as "99 Luftballons" on the self titled album from German singer Nena, but following success in Europe, an English language version was written called "99 Red Balloons" and included on the 1984 album "99 Luftballons".

The German version went to number one in Australia and number two in USA, while the English version went to number one in both UK and Canada.
6. "Red Red Wine"

Answer: UB40

Written by Neil Diamond and included on his 1967 album "Just For You", this song became a hit in 1969 for Tony Tribe and then became a massive hit in 1983 for UB40. The song went to number one in UK, USA, Canada, Ireland and many other countries and Diamond has stated it is his favourite cover version of one of his songs.
7. "Redneck Woman"

Answer: Gretchen Wilson

Wilson co-wrote this song with John Rich of the band Big and Rich, who also appear in the video, and it went all the way to number one in the Billboard Country chart, as well as managing to break into the top 50 in UK.
8. "Redneck Girl"

Answer: The Bellamy Brothers

"Redneck Girl", released in 1982, gave The Bellamy Brothers their sixth U.S. country chart number one, following on from classics such as "Sugar Daddy" (1979), "Dancin' Cowboys"(1979) and "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me" (1980).
9. "Red Barchetta"

Answer: Rush

How many bands could write a classic song about a red, two seater, Italian sports car? Rush certainly did with this 1981 track from the "Moving Pictures" album. The track was never released as a single but is a firm fan favourite, and appeared on their 2003 greatest hits album, "The Spirit of Radio."
10. "Red Right Hand"

Answer: Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds

Probably one of the better known songs by Nick Cave, partly due to its inclusion in the first three movies in the "Scream" franchise, (1996, 1997 & 2000), this track takes its title from a line in Milton's epic poem, "Paradise Lost".
