"Out of the Blue" had three hits other than "Mr. Blue Sky". They were "Turn to Stone", "It's Over", and "Sweet Talkin' Woman". Jeff Lynne co-founded The Electric Light Orchestra and has appeared on and produced every album. He also worked with rock legends George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison in The Traveling Wilburys.

Paul was the usual lead singer and rhythm guitarist. His make up was basically a white face with a black star over his right eye. Drummer Peter Criss, "The Cat", sang lead on this song.
