Several musicians had a hit record with "My Prayer" but it was The Platters who finally took it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1956, where it stayed for four weeks. Among others who recorded it were Glenn Miller, The Inkspots, Ella Fitzgerald and Tom Jones.
