Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of The Rolling Stones' TV show that was filmed in 1968, but wasn't released until 1996?

Answer: Rock 'n Roll Circus

The TV appearance was scrapped because The Stones didn't feel that their own performance was very good. When the film was released in 1996 it showed differently though.
2. Name the title of the VHS/DVD that had The Rolling Stones performing at the Brian Jones Memorial Concert.

Answer: The Stones In The Park

The Rolling Stones performed this concert in front of 350.000 people (including Paul McCartney of The Beatles) in London's Hyde Park in 1969. This was also the first concert with new guitarist Mick Taylor.
3. The Rolling Stones released an official video of one of their 1976 Paris concerts.

Answer: False

They didn't release a video or a DVD for that matter. One concert from Paris was aired on TV, though. It has become a well known bootleg titled "The Rolling Stones - Aux Abattoirs".
4. Which two artist appeared as guests, on separate songs, in the official "Voodoo Lounge" video (from Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami)?

Answer: Robert Cray and Bo Diddley

First we see Robert Cray playing guitar on a slow version of "Stop Breaking Down", an old Robert Johnson song that The Rolling Stones covered on "Exile On Main Street". Then The Stones' old mentor Bo Diddley enters for a song called "Who Do You Love" written by himself.
5. The four DVD box set "Four Flicks" (2003) had three concerts on it. Where were they filmed?

Answer: Madison Square Garden (USA), Twickenham Stadium (England) and Olympia (France)

The 40 Licks Tour had three different kinds of show: stadiums, arenas and theaters. The stadium show was at Twickenham Stadium in England, the arena show was in New York's Madison Square Garden and the theater concert was in Olympia in Paris.

Joshua Redman was a guy Mick Jagger had heard about. He introduced him for "Waiting On A Friend" where Joshua plays a beautiful sax solo.
8. Who made the The Rolling Stones' 1969 tour film "Gimme Shelter"?

Answer: Maysels Films Inc

The Maysels brothers later commented on the whole Altamont event showed in this film. The film was also released on DVD in 2000 as part of the Criterion Collection.
9. What is the name of the 1964 concert film that only surfaced on bootleg?

Answer: TAMI Show

This is the only footage from the 1964 tour.
10. Who directed the 2007 Rolling Stones documentary "Shine A Light"?

Answer: Martin Scorsese

Hal Ashby directed the 1981 tour film "Let's Spend The Night Together" (AKA "Rocks Off"), Charlotte Zhwerin instructed "Gimme Shelter" along with the Maysels Bros. and Sonny Barger was the leader of the Hell's Angels biker group in the late sixties.
