"Good Lovin" was the Young Rascals' first number one single in the USA. It was one of the the last songs that was not written by the team of Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati. The lyrics to the song read, "Doctor, Mr. M.D. / Now can you tell me what's ailing me?" When music critics heard the song, they immediately dubbed the style "blue-eyed soul." The members of the Rascals were not exactly thrilled with the term, since none of them had blue eyes.

"Groovin" became an international monster hit for the Rascals in the spring and summer of 1967. Its lyrics said, "Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon / Really couldn't get away too soon..." The song "It's Wonderful" was included on the Rascals' 1968 album "Once Upon A Dream." The album reached the number nine spot in the U.S. charts. The single was released before the album came out, and the song climbed to the number 20 position on the Billboard charts in December 1967.

The lyrics read: "Every place feels like home 'cause you're never alone / There's much to be said when it's all in your head..." "You Better Run", "Come On Up" and "Love Is a Beautiful Thing" were songs which appeared on the 1968 album "Time Peace: Greatest Hits."

The Rascals sang, "There will be children with robins and flowers / Sunshine caresses each new waking hour." The song climbed to the number three spot on the Billboard charts in May/June 1968.

The song "People Got to be Free" begins with the verse, "All the world over, so easy to see / People everywhere just wanna be free / Listen, please listen, that's the way it should be / Peace in the valley, people got to be free."
