Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "It is the season of emotion"

Answer: Led Zeppelin

"The Rain Song", from "Houses of the Holy". Led Zeppelin was influential on most if not all of today's rockers.
2. "She came and then she drove away, sunlight in her hair"

Answer: The Doors

"Peace Frog". This song was actually one of Jim Morrison's poems laid on top of another.
3. "I've been afraid of changing because I built my life around you."

Answer: Fleetwood Mac

"Landslide" from Fleetwood Mac's "White Album". This is my favorite song of all time, and was most recently redone by the Dixie Chicks. It was written for Stevie Nicks' father.
4. "You won't surrender, but how your heart is breaking"

Answer: John Waite

"Change". An obscure song from the 80s by John Waite, who was once a member of the Babys.
5. "You are the first to have this love of mine; forever with me til the end of time."

Answer: Black Sabbath

"N.I.B." from the "Black Sabbath" album. Probably the first love song by the Devil. Sabbath originally started out as "Earth", but since there was another band by that name at the time, they changed it to Black Sabbath, after seeing a poster advertising the movie of the same name starring Boris Karloff.
6. "My stage is shared by many millions who lift their hands up high because they feel this."

Answer: Creed

"What if" from "Human Clay".
7. "Hate was just a legend and war was never known."

Answer: Neil Young

"Cortez the Killer." One of his lesser known songs, it deals with the coming of Cortez to Mexico and the destruction that followed. Many of Neil Young's songs touch upon this subject.
8. "Deep down inside I feel a scream; this terrible silence stops me."

Answer: Metallica

"One" from "...And Justice For All". One of the videos for this song used footage from an old movie starring Jason Robards called "Johnny Got his Gun." Very disturbing.
9. "If only he could have been with us, no telling what he might say."

Answer: Kansas

"Portrait: He Knew" from "Point of No Return". Kansas used violins in every song to great effect.
10. "Maybe getting in the last word doesn't really mean you win."

Answer: the Clarks

"Maybe" from "Another Happy Ending". May have fooled you on that; the Clarks are a regional band that really deserves to be nationwide. If you have a chance, look them up at clarksonline.com.
