Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" by Panic! at the Disco, on what hand does the girl wear the diamond bracelet?

Answer: she doesn't wear a diamond bracelet

The woman wears a pearl bracelet on her right hand. The music video's storyline is that the fishtanks represent their lives, and the fish represent a relationship that they've had. It takes place in the 1950's. When the girl's boyfriend finds that there is another fish in the fishtank, he commits suicide. Looking back on the memories, the woman realizes that she'd rather be with him than anyone else, so she breaks her tank too.

This represents starting fresh. They are carried off to the ocean by the band members, beginning a new life with just each other and no peer pressure.
2. In Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away," what time does the clock say in the very beginning?

Answer: 8:30 AM

It is obviously AM because the girl is just waking up and the radio in the car says, "Good Morning!" This is a very funny music video where random people are being caught goofing off and lip-syncing the song. It basically says that when you don't know what to do, walk away.
3. What color is the flower that the female lead has on in Fall Out Boy's "Dance, Dance"?

Answer: dark pink

Pete Wentz (of the band) pins a flower on the girl's dress before they enter the gym, where the dance is being held. Wentz plays a nerd that slyly asks out a popular girl. Obviously, her ex-boyfriend doesn't approve of this, because he continuously tries to prevent the two from getting close. In the end, both he and his geeky friend (Patrick Stump) find love.
4. What color is the chair that Christina Aguilera sits on in her video for "Beautiful"?

Answer: brown

This video encourages viewers to be themselves and not worry what others think. In the video for the Grammy winning song, there are two homosexuals in love, a woman who has been going through a loss who wants to just forget by destroying pictures and papers, a gothic who no one wants to sit next to on a bus, an anorexic that eventually breaks her mirror, a drag queen, a teenage boy who wants to become strong and masculine, a girl who is beaten but accepts her scars, and, last but not least, Christina herself.
5. In the video "Fergalicious" by Fergie, where is everything taking place?

Answer: Fergieland

In the beginning, when Will.I.Am. begins to rap, there is a sign that welcomes you to Fergieland. The second single from her debut album, "Fergalicious" is a remake of the song "Supersonic" and is supposed to look like a candy factory, as in 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'.
6. In "Honestly" (Cartel), what's all around the room that the band is performing in?

Answer: pictures and Post-It notes

Cartel's video is about people having to take chances in their love life. Three couples who met online suddenly see each other in real life. Unfortunately, they don't take any chances or say "Hello". They get nervous and walk away. At one point, two people are on the subway.

When the woman gets off, the man waits a while, thinking. As he begins to walk off to catch his love, the doors close, sadly. At the very end, everyone goes back to the computer, but I doubt that they will get lucky again.
7. In "Come Back to Me", Vanessa's Hudgens's first music video, she wears gold sandals while dancing and singing by the red wall.

Answer: False

Hudgens wears gold boots during that scene. This is her first single in her career as a solo artist. In the video, she sings about how someone left her and she wants him to come back. It was rumored that this song was written about her 'High School Musical' co-star, Zac Effron.
8. What color bandana does the boy have on in Missy Elliot's "We Run This" video when everyone is wearing yellow?

Answer: navy blue

A 13-year-old (approx.) boy begins dancing with Missy during this scene. The video had to be given MUCH different lyrics for the movie "Stick It" because the original has very sexual, racist, and innappropriate lyrics. In the video, Missy does gymanstics like a pro, while competing to win in a competition. The whole idea of it is "don't mess with me!"
9. In the beginning of "One" (U2 and Mary J. Blige), which way does the arrow point?

Answer: left

This beautiful song is actually a remake of U2's original version. The camera is focused on Blige and the band, but it has a strong message. That is that our country needs to unite in times of need, and not to fight and get angry with dissatisfaction during these important, sometimes nerve-wrecking periods. We all need to become ONE!
10. Who appears on the television in "SexyBack" by Justin Timberlake?

Answer: Timbaland

The artist who really made a break through in 2005-2006, Timbaland was featured in "SexBack", which is Justin's first single from his album 'FutureSex/LoveSounds'. The video is simply about love and doing anything for it.
11. Beyonce's nails are painted light, pale red in her video for "Ring the Alarm".

Answer: False

Beyonce Knowles has on bright red nail polish while singing the song from her 2006 album, 'B'Day'. The video is telling th story of how a man left her and now he's got a new girl. Beyonce sings about how she will not let him do that and she will tell that girl what is on her mind!
12. What is the first item shone in Shiny Toy Guns's video for "MakeDamnSure"?

Answer: Shiny Toy Guns didn't sing the song "MakeDamnSure"

Taking Back Sunday was the band with the song "MakeDamnSure". If I had written that, the answer would have been 'a shooting gun'. Their video has clips of weapons and animals getting killed. The message of the video is that someone wants to take you down by any possible means, in any way that's possible.
13. In "Dirty Little Secret" (All-American Rejects), why does one guy date a girl?

Answer: to get her sister

In their first video from 'Move Along', the band creates a song that lets people tell their embarrassing or romantic secrets. People with hazy faces hold up index cards stating what their secret is. Some include: "I'm a Virgin"; "I Pee in the Sink"; "She Cheated"; "I Make Fun of Fat People, But my Mom is Huge"; "I Hate People Who Remind Me of Myself"; "Sometimes I Think my Fiance Isn't The One"; "I Leave Poetry in Library Books"; "I Cheated on my SAT and Got a Scholarship"; "I Only Love two Of my Children"; "I'm Afraid to Answer the Telephone"; and many more...
14. In Bowling for Soup's "High School Never Ends", are the streamers that the band walks through blue?

Answer: Yes

From the 'Great Burrito Extorition Case', Bowling for Soup brings a hilarious song and smart music video. It shows the band going to a high school reunion for their school, Borin High (ha!). There they find that nothing has changed and there is nothing different about high school and the real world. Ridiculous flashbacks about the popular kids torturing the band as teens are funny, and after the memories, that particular band member gets back at the evil kid.
15. In "Girls and Boys" by Good Charlotte, what team does the old woman's visor say when the band member is oiling her?

Answer: New York Yankees

In this music video, we see a whole new start of culture. Older folks try to become teenagers and act like them, too. They wear the same clothes, put their hair the same way, and try to become teens. It basically shows that spoiled people will just act spoiled forever! Now, I don't know about you, but I don't want to see my grandmother in a revealing bikini and getting massages from gothic dudes!
