The duo had performed in private venues prior to renting the 150-seat theatre and self-promoting the revue. The performances were very popular and they signed an agent and opened at the Fortune Theatre. They would continue performing for eleven years, including shows booked in several other countries.

Inspired by a a trip with girlfriend Kathy Chitty, Paul Simon wrote the evocative lyrics of two travelers searching for America both literally and figuratively. The song was released as a single in 1972.

In 2010 National Public Radio aired a report on graffiti in Saginaw, Michigan. Native Eric Schantz began painting the lyrics of "America" around unused properties, which grew into a grassroots campaign called Paint Saginaw. The city was once booming, but populations have declined as people leave to find work elsewhere.

This song was recorded as part of Springsteen's CBS Studios audition in 1972. That demo was released as part of the collection "Tracks" in 1998. In the liner notes for the collection Springsteen shares his memory of that audition.

The song was written by Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown. The idea came from a story of a Civil War soldier coming home from a POW camp. Updated to the present time, the bus rider has previously sent a letter asking his love to tie a yellow ribbon on the tree if she wants him to come home to her.

The group would later become Tony Orlando and Dawn, and continue to produce hits until their breakup in 1977.

This was written as a parody of "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen's John Deacon. The copyright was transferred to Queen Music, Ltd. in 1981.

The song debuted on "The Dr. Demento Show" in 1980. The song was also performed for Al's first TV appearance on "The Tomorrow Show" with Tom Snyder in 1981.

The song "Trailways Bus" tells of the bus ride after Agron's release from prison.

The Silver Eagle bus was purchased used by Kenny Chesney early in his career, and somewhere along the way earned the name Moby. The odometer on the bus rolled over 1,000,000 miles during a 2015 tour. The song was written by Chesney and Tom Douglas. The bus on the album cover is not Moby, but a psychedelic bus paint job inspired by Ken Kesey.
